"Marriott International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAR) announced today the signing of franchise contracts for five new Fairfield by Marriott hotels together with management contracts for a Courtyard hotel and a Marriott Hotel in China. The signing demonstrates Marriott’s commitment in expanding and deepening its collaboration with Chinese hotel partners.

The new properties are the Fairfield by Marriott, Chongqing Riverside, with 119 rooms; Fairfield by Marriott, Dongguan Changping, with 196 rooms; Fairfield by Marriott, Meizhou South, with 100 rooms; Fairfield by Marriott, Foshan Nanhai, with 248 rooms, and Fairfield by Marriott Nanning Nanhu Park, with 190 rooms.

The new Courtyard by Marriott hotel will be located in Chengdu’s Tianfu New District and will offer 315 rooms and lively social spaces. Also signed today is the company’s signature brand Marriott Hotel in Jinhua, which is Marriott’s first property in the city. The hotel will have 279 rooms and full-service amenities including two restaurants, a lobby lounge, and 1,700 square meters of of meeting space."

A few new hotels that have popped up on marriott.com over the past few weeks.

Autograph Collection
- French Leave Resort, opening in December 2016. Rather new hotel, opened two years ago as an independent property.
- EMC2, opening March 2017 in Chicago. New built property located steps from Michigan Avenue on Ontario Street in the famous Streeterville District. Looks like an excellent addition.
- Empire Hotel Birmingham, opening January 2017. Newly built hotel located in a historic tower in downtown Birmingham, AL.
- The 'Okina, opening February 2017 in Honolulu. A conversion and renovation of the Aqua Waikiki Wave Hotel.

Renaissance Hotels
- Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West, opening June 2017. A new built property on the northern outskirts of the Dallas metropolitan area, just across from JC Penney Headquarters.
- Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway, opening April 2017. A new built property across the street from another Marriott Full Service and a Springhill Suites on the west end of the airport. Hope the old Renaissance will also stick around since it is one of my favorite properties.
- Renaissance Haikou Hotel, opening January 2017.
- Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, opening November 2016.

Delta Hotels by Marriott
- Delta Hotels by Marriott Chicago North Shore, opening February 2017. A reconversion of the Wyndham Glenview Suites Chicago North Hotel.
- Delta Hotels by Marriott Baltimore Inner Harbor, opening November 2016. Couldn't find much information on this one although it looks like a new built property rather than a converted hotel.

AC Hotels
- AC Hotel Des Moines East Village, opening January 2017. Looks like a new built property.
- AC Hotels Minneapolis Bloomington, opening January 2017. Looks like a new built property across the Mall of America.
- AC Hotel Minneapolis Downtown, opening October 2016. Looks like a new building.
- AC Hotels Asheville Downtown, opening December 2016. Looks like a new built property that replaced a parking garage.
- AC Hotel Raleigh North Hills, opening February 2017. Looks like a property inside a new development that includes further hotels, retail and restaurants.
- AC Hotel Cincinnati at the Banks, opening June 2017 next to the Cincinnati Reds Stadium and on the banks of the Ohio river.
- AC Hotel Portland Downtown, opening January 2017 in the heart of Pioneer Place retail and entertainment district.
- AC Hotels Dallas Downtown, opening April 2017. Looks like a reconversion of an old office building.
- AC Hotels Irvine, opening April 2017. Newly built property off I-405 not far from SNA Airport.
- AC Hotels Denver Downtown, opening August 2017. New built property close to the Colorado Convention Center.
- AC Hotels Miami Northeast, opening February 2017. New built property close to the Aventura Mall.

Moxy
- Moxy Manhattan Midtown, opening May 2017. The first Moxy in Manhattan and it has a rather attractive location on 7th Avenue and 36th Street.

Courtyard
- Courtyard Brussels EU, opening December 2016. It's only a Courtyard but every new hotel in Europe is good news at this point. It is located in a 70's office building that has been renovated.

Courtyard Santa Monica opening Nov '16. Located on Colorado Ave.

JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach - Category 8 Hotel

Construction is underway on a 108 room Fairfield Inn & Suites in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The site is at 30 S. Federal Hwy, which is on the east side of the street between Broward Blvd and the entrance to the tunnel under the New River.
