Norfolk, VA, to get an Autograph Collection property (probably late 2017)

A developer plans to turn a century-old downtown office building into a 120-room boutique hotel with a glass art theme. The hotel would be part of Marriott’s “Autograph Collection,” a chain of about 100 luxury or boutique properties across the world.

The hotel would be in the 13-story Royster Building at 201 Granby St.

City records say the hotel would include a lobby restaurant and bar, a rooftop lounge and a permanent glass art gallery that would be open to the public."

Ithaca NY opening delayed until October from August due to construction delays. "Now, says hotel Director of Sales Lorie Wasilawski, the plan is to open on October 18th, “but as with any construction project, things can change.” She tells us the hotel is “currently taking reservations for November 15th and beyond.”

When completed, the project will have more than 100 guest rooms, a 3,000-square-foot restaurant and some flexible meeting space. The hotel will also incorporate three two-bedroom apartments and one six-bedroom apartment for hotel employees."

The article doesn't say, but the Marriott website shows a Springhill Suites opening in December 2016, which is what I think the above is about.
