A Springhill Suites in Grandville, MI (suburb of Grand Rapids) inbtwn I-96 & Rivertown Crossings Mall due to open in spring 2017 on Rivertown Parkway.

Our location is a good location across from the mall and the shopping and the restaurants," said Akram Namou, an owner of A&M Hospitality in Madison Heights. "It will be a complement to the surrounding businesses.

"This caters for a businessman, a shopper, a traveler. It's a suite hotel so it caters for families also. The weekend business will come from the shoppers while the weekday business will come from the corporate (travelers)."

* Siberia to get 2 new brands: Courtyard & Executive Apartments in Novosibirsk in 2020.

* Courtyard by Marriott in New York State’s Lake George. The construction of the four-season, six-story property broke ground in mid-May 2015 and the hotel is slated for completion this summer. Sitting in the heart of town at 365 Canada St., the hotel will be located right across the street from a lakefront beach. Thus, the additional 38 suites and two 5,000-square-foot meeting and banquet areas will offer full lakefront views. The upcoming Courtyard by Marriott will offer amenities including a rooftop lounge overlooking Lake George, two restaurants, an exercise room, a spa, an indoor pool, and in-room high-speed internet access.

* Courtyard near North Station in Boston, probably in 2018.

I'm not sure how confirmed this is, but per this post in the WyndhamRewards forum:
the Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach by Wyndham on Kauai (which has gone independent for now) is hoping to become an Autograph by Marriott once they meet the requirements.

Thanks for the heads up. This post in the Wyndham forum says an FTer talked to the property, which confirmed they're going to Autograph Collection.

Newark, Delaware, to get a Springhill Suites, probably mid-late 2017.

George Danneman, who hoping to develop the hotel at the northeast intersection of Ogletown Road and Library Avenue, said his proposal also includes plans for an indoor pool.

“This unique location is an ideal fit for SpringHill Suites to capture the best of downtown Newark, the University of Delaware and the rapid expansion of high-tech enterprises locating in the area,” he said in a release.

Wow, if I'm not mistaken, that'll make it the first points-bookable / points-earning property (in any program) in or near the Fuji Five Lakes area. (Only far on the other side of Mount Fuji, in the Hakone area, is there a Hilton.)

For those who don't know, the Fuji Five Lakes area is a beautiful place to view Mount Fuji especially during spring cherry/etc blossom season.

"The historic Edgewater Hotel in South Beach will now be known as Marriott Vacation Club, South Beach after the leading timeshare company purchased the coveted beachfront property for $23.5 million.

The 49-room, studio and suite hotel at 1410 Ocean Drive has been a staple of the area since 1936. Kinney said the hotel won’t undergo infrastructure changes but rather refurbishments to match Marriott design standards — but its history will be preserved.

Guests can already book a stay at the Marriott Vacation Club, South Beach, but the hotel won’t complete full refurbishments until early 2017."

Yiwu Marriott Hotel, Zhuhai Marriott Hotel and Renaissance Nanjing Olympic Centre hotel are now open. Wutai Mountain Marriott Hotel (previously scheduled to open in May 2016) is already open. Zhejiang Taizhou Marriott Hotel (previously scheduled to open in January 2016) is currently scheduled to open in May 2016. Harbin Marriott Hotel still scheduled to open in May 2016.

"R.D. Olson Development and general contractor R.D. Olson Construction broke ground Tuesday for a 271-room, full-service Irvine Spectrum Marriott. Its is the company’s first full-service hotel project in Irvine in more than a decade. The $120 million project will feature a rooftop lounge, full-service restaurant, fitness center and pool/spa. Construction is set to be complete in summer 2017."
