The new lessee of the Hyatt Regency Saipan property, which closed on 30 June 2024, has announced they intend to reopen as a Sheraton, possibly by the end of November. They have already reopened a restaurant there.

The new owner, MB Capital LLC, wanted to reopen the property as a Sheraton hotel. Because a franchise agreement had yet to be finalized, it reopened instead as the Marianas Beach Resort in November 2024.

On Friday, 28 March 2025, MB Capital LLC and Asia Pacific Development and Marriott International signed a franchise agreement to open the hotel as the Sheraton Saipan Resort.

First, MB Capital has to renovate the public areas as Phase 1 of the property improvement plan. They are hoping to complete this before the end of 2025, whereupon they could open as a Sheraton.

There would still be several years of internal renovation after opening as the Sheraton Saipan Resort.

I look forward to starting a FlyerTalk master thread on this property once it is actually a Sheraton.

Mhmmm I see no info anywhere on FT on the Monterey Beach Hotel, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. Took over for what I believe was previously called the Tides Hotel?

Seems to be getting not-so-great reviews though. Or is there a thread I just can't seem to find?

Just found this article announcing the 160-room Le Méridien Antalya, which upon further sleuthing, shows that it will be designed by Emre Arolat [who also designed Le Méridien Istanbul Etiler] and is going up on a seafront plot directly next door to Crowne Plaza Antalya. The design is beautiful and playful; I'm excited for what this property will bring when it opens.

Marriott Luxury Collection might have 1 new incoming hotel in Jimbaran Bali.
KARV Jimbaran.
No formal announcement that I can find so far other than Instagram post from the architect.

From the looks it might be ready closer to the end of this year or early 2026.

The Luxembourg Marriott Alfa is now taking reservations beginning June 15th it looks like. We are looking at a two night stay but the above statement makes me a little nervous (granted it is now six years old). The price is pretty high and I worry paying that for a brand new hotel might be a gamble and lead to disappointment. Same price to stay at the Sofitel or even less at a Novotel or Airbnb. I tried Googling any info on this hotel but there is very little. I am assuming there is a lounge since you can book M Club Lounge rooms but I did not see it on their webpage. A main reason to choose this over Sofitel would be free breakfast and Lounge access but again, assuming it would be available. Any experiences staying in new hotels that soon after opening?

In my experience, new hotels in the Marriott category in countries such as Germany, Switzerland, or Luxembourg are usually fine soon even shortly after opening as they usually take over a good amount of qualified staff. If this was a Moxy or a hotel located in GB (where more unqualified staff is hired which just receives a short on-the-job training), I would be a bit more concerned.

I would recommend a back-up booking, though, as such opening dates are subject to change and push-backs are not all that uncommon even after hotels have started accepting bookings.

I am curious why a previous poster dubbed the hotel's location the worst in all of Luxembourg. Can anyone elaborate? I know the location somewhat and am thinking it is okay-ish.
