the 11-year-old property will join in 3rd quarter this year. it's on a tree lined boulevard across from former slh affiliated eclat hotel. it's on the boutique side with 124 keys.

the same owner group also has courtyard taipei downtown in its portfolio. current rate is already well above 200 usd most of the year. expect steeper price tag with marriott.

speaking of former slh affiliation, this 9-year-old property is projected to fly the marriott flag in 4th quarter this year. definitely boutique with 62 keys. located in lukang of central taiwan famed for traditional sites and heritage buildings. again, the affiliation will only jack up the price noticeably.

Montcalm Mayfair is now up and running. Reasonably priced for the area. Smells newly redone. Service was impeccable, if a little too much. (I don’t really need anybody to walk me to my room and explain the contents in detail. And who has GBP on them at all, let alone when they flew in from the US that morning?) I was allowed early check-in at 9am, and proactively offered 4pm late checkout. Rooms are small, but my upgrade made it fine. Breakfast included as ambassador, and was delightful. Quiet area.

Mentioned somewhere upthread, but Le Méridien San Diego Downtown is coming to 1270 Columbia Street, and is currently hiring a General Manager. Hopefully the opening isn't too far into the future.

The original Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown rebranded as the The Notary, Autograph Collection. I guess that opened up a slot for a Courtyard in Center City. I wonder if they will open a new Le Meridien property in Center City and continue the brand shuffle. I stayed at this property once or twice when it was the Le Meridien. I don't remember too much about the stays other than elite recognition was poor. At the time, the original CY, now Notary was my favorite downtown. The Notary and The Element are my current favorites. The rates at the new CY are reasonable and I will likely give it try during one of my upcoming trips.

Oh, wow, this is one of the more striking buildings in the skyline, but the fact that it has sat unfinished internally for so long was kind of sad. I’m glad to see there are plans to finish it and especially glad it will be an affiliated property with one of the big chains.
