I have 2 stays in the last 2 weeks at Aloft Bangkok after more than a year.

It is basically nothing to shout or complain.

As I have been staying here many times and I did not expect any upgrade at all as I saw the hotel put a sign on my last stay. I did not notice this sign at this stay.

Other than the late checkout, 250points/breakfast, there is no other Platinum benefit. There is not even a welcome letter from the GM or some sort, which I think I still see it last time.

Also, on my second stay, I was given room 1515 which is rather hidden, and the aircon control was locked, I cannot changed the mode. And I saw flies in the room.

Renovation Noise

Stayed here for 2 weeks. They put me up on the floor where there is ongoing renovation 1 floor below. Constant drilling and knocking from morning to afternoon. Simply unable to sleep. Called up the front desk to complain.

The Duty Manager came to my room and helped me packed all my stuffs and changed to a room on the lower floor. No noise after that.

The hotel should have informed guest prior to booking on their website that the hotel is currently having renovation but they did not. The front desk staff who did my check in should also put me in a room / floor where there is no noise from the renovation since I'm staying for 2 weeks and not 1-2 days. Simply lack common sense and causing so much inconvenience for me due to the packing and unpacking of my luggage.

I simply agree with that.

But perhaps the agent did not know. When I asked if room 1515 that he assigned me near lift or not, he did not know. He has asked to his colleague.

I asked the Duty Manager and was informed that many of the staffs are relatively new. I checked with my friends from other hotels and I was told of high turnover in this hotel.

has anyone managed to attach suite nights here lately????i have a reservation coming up in a couple of weeks & the system says i cannot attach suites nights to my reservation....i tried a couple of random dates as well just to check if suite nights can be attached but no luck....

the reasons they give for not allowing the suite nights are:

The rate booked is a non-eligible SPG rate.
its an eligible rate booked on spg.com....

The member does not have sufficient Suite Night Awards in the account for the duration of the stay.
i have more suite nights than the duration of my stay....

Suite Night Awards can’t be applied online to stays with more than one room. Please call us to use your Awards.
i have only booked one room....

The number of people in a reservation party exceeds the capacity of any upgrade room options.
i will be the sole occupant of the room....

Suite Night Awards can’t be applied after 2 p.m. local hotel time the day before arrival.
i still have 10 days to my reservation....

Suite Night Awards can’t be applied to a reservation that is already booked with an upgrade option for those dates.
i've booked the base level room & have not upgraded....

The hotel isn’t configured for Suite Night Awards. Potential reasons include, but are not limited to, hotels that don’t have upgraded room types and all-suite hotels.
i've used suite nights here before but that was a few years ago....i'm assuming this property is still configured for suite night awards....

I requested help from Lurkers a couple of years ago as I had previously seen availability and they said it had been discontinued then and they would not do it.

True. But if that is the case, shouldn't SPG.com say that they have "limited participation" in the SPG program?
