I think the workaround will probably be taking continental breakfast as your welcome amenity as opposed to 500 Starpoints.

There is a substitute lounge in the lobby level. When I was here, there were no hot food option but decent salad, ham, carpaccio, cheese, pastry and sweets. The gym is now in a suite on the 13th or 18th floor (I forgot sry). One treadmill, stepper and some other equipments.

I was given a choice between a standard room or a club room because the club lounge is being renovated and there would be noisy from 8am to 7pm. Took the latter, but did not hear anything noise from the renovation instead I heard almost everything from rooms nearby. All in all a nice hotel, great staffs, just the noise isolation between rooms is really bad.

As a plat I was told that breakfast was complimentary in the restaurant.

I didn't take advantage of it because I had already made breakfast plans and wasn't able to confirm.

can confirm this information. pretty much looks like the price differential of the roomrates between Sheraton and Westin.

Swimming Pool

Does the swimming pool on the Sheraton Arabellapark on the top floor no longer exist?

It's being renovated.

But I was quite disappointed that they would not allow at least Plats to use the pool in their sister hotel Westin across the street for free.

I also heard that they were going to renovate the lounge more, but ran out of money or something, so some renovations will simply not be done. Not sure how much truth there is to this rumor.

The Schörghuber group which owns the property (and the entire building) is a little indecisive about what to do with the hotel

Just staying at Sheraton Arabellapark.

The spa and pool on the 22nd floor have now re-opened. Pretty decent. The new lounge on 22nd floor is open until 11.00pm on weekends from Jan 1, 2014 (used to close at 6.00pm before).

I have seen the new lounge and the remodeled pool area in dicembre 2013 while staying at the Westin. Both are well done, but afaics there was no WC / 00 in the lounge anymore.

You're absolutely right!

But what I consider as much worse is lots of guests in bathrobes sitting in the lounge for hours! (We took a look at the lounge at three different times the same evening and saw the same guests in bathrobes sitting at the same tables. So I assume they must have been sitting there for hours.) In addition to that it's kind of ridiculous when staff members ask for your room number to make sure that you are allowed to be where you are, serve you wine at your request (there are no bottles for self service available) and try to give you a feeling of an upscale Club Lounge and next to you are guests sitting in their bathrobes. Weird, strange .......

The hotel is in urgent need of implementing a rule that prevents such behavior.

Before the refurbishment of the lounge there was also a hot offering in the evening, most times something with meat which I wouldn't eat, but the other guests enjoyed it. Since the opening of the lounge after the refurbishment the hot offerings are completely missing.

Not even a hot soup like the years before?

BTW: if your suite is on the tenth floor and no WC / 00 ... NICE!!!
