r.
It is your bank. There are repports of some banks / credit unions want to count the coins. Even different branches of same bank can have different policies. A poster actually has an extra $1.

Most banks take them as they are.

Anybody's orders of the Native Americans shipped?

I looked up my order today, the status while still in Process but the line item of the Native American said 2 boxes shipped 01/12/09. One Tracking number showing up, with 1ZE1988X as the preceeding number, Federal Express.

No email from The Mint has arrived yet.

Tracking number does not work on Fedex.com.

This is first to me, as all our previous orders were shipped by UPS, despite standard shipment is requested. This time standard shipment was requested, charged, then phone rep deleted the shipping charge, but now it is shipped by FEDEX?!

I would appreciate anyone who has received shipment via FEDEX posts his experiences.

I think tracking numbers beginning with 1Z belong to UPS

That is what I thought too, so as the phone rep of The Mint when I called to verify.

However, the current tracking number does not match with the sequence of the UPS number in the way how the numeric and alpha are lining up.

The previous UPS shipments all started with 1Z8E85Y then followed by 11 digits.

This one starts with 1ZE1988X then followed by 10 digits.

The total characters are the same - 18, but the strings are all off.

I called and the rep said she could not pull up the tracking number on either carrier also. However, she said her internal system shows it is shipped by UPS - she said they have only 3 methods for standard shipping - UPS, USPS, USPS via DHL. She notated the account about the tracking number not working, and said I have to wait for 30 days if the package still not arrives, then call back to file a Non-Receipt report.

I sure hope it is just a glitch in scanning the correct number into the system as UPS has been very good in the past 6 shipments.

We've had tracking numbers not work and the shipments all arrived safely, hope yours do to.

Mrs. C's mom received her first and only order via Fed Ex. Maybe they felt guilty about holding her order for so long?

I sure hope so!

Now this is a doozy - the tracking number just became alive on UPS, BUT ...

Closer to $3-4000, I think, especially when you take into account the cardboard and plastic trays.
