"After further review, we’ve deemed it necessary to close your account. There are many factors that go into our decision, including a manual review of each customer’s account and activity. As a part of our review, we’ve determined we’re unable to release the remaining funds to you." As for data points I used this account to load the temp card with SCO and also received some Cashapp withdrawals. I transferred most of the funds out but still have a lot stuck in there and no way to remove it as they just repeat the same line over and over to me. I have sent a complaint to the CFPB but it doesn't seem to be too helpful because there was no way to select the exact bank. Not sure what I can do to get my funds back. |

My bolding and underlining I have never submitted a complaint to the CFPB, but the bank you want to complain about is Costal Community Bank. Your One Account is part of that bank and a demand deposit account as well. They are not entitled to keep legitimately deposited funds. As long as you have the records of where the funds were obtained and how, these have to be returned. However, that process can take weeks to months but you should get your money back. |
Like 6 weeks from creation to shutdown lol. I have a feeling maybe receiving money from cashapp might have played a big part in it as well. I have read of others hitting it harder and for longer before shutdown. I thought it would've made it look more legit if I was using it my real "bank", guess not though.

Yeah I tried to look up coastal community bank as well but it wasn't there. I actually set the physical address as Coastal

The CFPB received 13 complaints about One in December, almost double the neobank’s monthly average for 2023. The article also noted the following. One had a higher rate of complaints lodged against it at the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in 2023, its first full year under Walmart control, than most other large neobanks for which data is publicly available. The CFPB received 89 complaints about One, which has 1.6 million customers, according to a recent internal company presentation. That was six more complaints than Dave, a neobank with 9.9 million customers. One also has more complaints per customer than both Current and MoneyLion, two large neobanks. Chime, the largest neobank in the U.S., has by far the highest rate of complaints. (These comparisons are imperfect because neobanks don’t always use the same definitions of “customer.”) Please remember that ProPublica is a site that claims to be unbiased, but really isn't so it looks for clicks just like everyone else. However, first you should be able to file a complaint to the CFPB and second, see why you were shut down so fast. If nothing else, everyone should be aware that One and Coastal are probably being hyper-vigilant on scammers which they consider MSers to be ;) |

DE, GE, SE VGC from OM/OD have all worked to load One at my WMNM and WMSC at the MC at both. Full drain of $200. I’ve been doing one/two per day this week but that’s a lot of going to Walmart for me. I got the courage up to try split payment with 2 GE cards for my Discover debit. Idk why I was stupid nervous the lady for sure thought I was crazy 🤪
It worked fine and she didn’t say anything. Funny thing, she didn’t even know they loaded Discover. Shoot me neither until I found it on here. 😅 |

When you loaded Discover, were you also able to fully drain $200?

Some stores have VGC/MCGCs all missing: still there at 1/3 SCs and 2/2 NMs. (Technically one of the empty SCs had a few random SS in an aisle.)
At one of those NMs, I bought slightly <500 VVGC Incomm ("happy birthday"); these ones (based on design and location on the rack) used to be Sutton but now they are PW. I think there are no Suttons anymore. Still plenty of SS (also PW). Bought this card along with some tea using WM Pay; BAU. |

Update 5 weeks later: VGC/MCGCs are still there at 1/3 SCs and 3/3 NMs. Since the last post, I checked one new NM and rechecked one NM and one SC. (The SC was one of the ones without the VGCs, still missing). Medium-sized metro area with some crime hysteria but not a ton; been looking within city limits and outside.
