i asked this awhile back about what happens when u tell plastiq that your payee is a telecom service. Someone replied that it doesnt work that way.

unsure why CIP works the way it does...

CSR worked for a while because it was strangely coding as travel. I assume CIP is the same deal, but Chase just hasn't gotten around to fixing it yet.

Anyone pay Wells Fargo Mortgage via the "Wells Fargo" payee in their system?

The payment address matches so I went ahead and used that one (quoted 3 day turnaround) instead of the normal one I've already set up (paper check which takes 5-7 days to post).
Payment said completed on 8/25 but I've yet to see it posted on my Wells account..

Anyone still claiming you can't pay mortgages using Visa cards via Plastiq?

Anyone still claiming you can't pay mortgages using Visa cards? If so, is this limited to the Big Banks? I'm about to make another mortgage payment to my lender with a Visa card. Again, it's not a Household Name bank. But I'm curious. Who's been unsuccessful and what banks have you been unsuccessful with?

Also wondering if there are any good alternatives to Plastiq besides, perhaps, tio.com (formerly ChargeSmart).

Well, Plastiq just processed my mortgage payment using a my new CIP Visa card. There was no warning / error message about Visa cards not to be used for Mortgage payments. I got the message and email that the card was processed successfully. I'll post an update when (if?) the payment is processed and delivered.

Yes, and no problems whatsoever.

I've been using the Plastiq/CIP/Wells Fargo combination for several months now. In July my payment to Wells Fargo was credited four days after it was processed on my CIP.

So does this supposed mortgage payment restriction with VISAs apply to rent payments as well? Or just exclusively mortgage payments?

Me.
I just tried using my Ink Plus Visa and it was a no go. I received the error message. Trying to pay U.S. Bank.

Datapoint: CIP/Plastiq/Flag* mortgage. 3X! Showing as Miscellaneous Services on UR even though I selected as Real estate in Plastiq. Paid on 8/28, posted to mortgage on 8/31. Same mortgage paid via CSR got me only 1X last month. Hope this 3X lasts a while.
