Precisely my concern. I guess I'm going to keep using the same 2 accounts until I see some more DPs on here or reddit. If I hear anything, I'll try to come back here and post or send you a PM. Seems like there aren't many of us left, however. Cheers.

I'm afraid that if I close down the 2 accounts I have, I won't be able to open any new ones (which would be worse than just letting them ride and using them in the meantime). I'm hoping that there won't be anymore shutdowns before AmEx transfers the cards to the new issuer and then we'll see how the new issuer handles existing accounts and applications for new ones.

could it be that can't open another same as 1 is still active? or in the past before the last wave of shutdown, folks were able to open more than 1 of the same acct, but now not?

In the recent past, folks were able to open more than one of the same account. I have recently tried to open another ServeOne VIP account and a Bluebird account (both of which I currently have), without success. I also tried to open a new Serve Green account (which I do not presently have, but which I've had in the past), but received the same message about not being able to open such an account now. It makes me worried that AmEx is cracking down on the repeated short term opening and closing of these accounts and has decided that if you have opened and closed a number of these accounts over a certain period of time, you can't open any more (for who knows how long). That's just a working theory of mine based on my experience and that of others -- but I don't know that for a fact.

i see...wasn't aware of more than 1 of same acct/type is allowed in the past; any guess around when the transition will occur?

You mean the transition of Serve from AmEx to InComm Holdings Inc.? If so, I think it was supposed to be complete by the end of the year.

Not that I'm aware of, but I'm not sure everyone is having this problem, so I'm not sure exactly what triggers it. It may not be triggered if you have just opened and closed 1 or 2 accounts and then apply for the exact same card again. I think I done it at least 3 times and now can't open any new accounts but still have two that are open and survived the latest shutdown.

I haven't been able to do online loads of my Serve card from my BBVA Amex card since Dec 1. I also can't edit the card in the Settings page. Anyone else seeing problems as well?

It's been a while since I used the axp bbva CC to load to my Serve. I did the targeted offer sent by bbva axp spend $150, get $15 credit and tried to load my prepaid card yesterday and another load today. Both loads went through. If you have not used your bbva CC in a while, make sure it's active and then try loading again. If issue persists, try loading in-store and as long as you can load, your account is in good standing.

Get em while you still can! Just got this email from Serve:

We are writing to notify you of a change coming to the American Express Serve® ONE VIP™ Program in 2018. As of January 1, 2018, we will no longer be accepting new ONE VIP Card Prepaid applications, but as a current ONE VIP Cardholder, we want to let you know that there will be no impact to your Serve Account.

If I create three serve accounts:

If one of my accounts is shut down, will it shut down the other two?

Can I MS on one account and save the other two for when the first one gets shut down on me?

Or will shutting down also shut down the other two, even if they aren't activated?

during the last wave of shutdowns, one of my BBs got shutdown but the other 4 that I have activated but have not used were spared. I'm now loading BB#2. When the cards came, I just activated and then put them in the sock drawer, same thing with VIPs. IME, my cards that were already activate but not used have been spared from shutdowns although I'm aware that things can change with short notice or none at all.
