I also wonder if this is working the same way. Last year, I got the email (and credit) even if the merchant didn't show up on the ShopSmall map (such as a local restaurant).
But this year, I didn't get the emails so I searched the map and they no longer show up on the website map. Are they getting stricter?
Anyone else?

The map didn't show the places I used the cards at last year, but when I specified their names, they were found (one in blue, one in green; dunno what that means). Searching for a business I knew was ineligible found nothing, so I hope that both places work.

You can specify types, partial names, etc.
But I don't see a way to get it to show the 100 closest places to a given address.

I've noticed that the qualifying merchant list is a lot smaller this year than last year. For example, a restaurant that gave the SBS statement credit last year (Hill Country BBQ in NYC) is not working this year.

then today, received this email.
