Here is the note I just got from customer service
Hi XXXXXX, Thank you for contacting GiftCards.com regarding invoice XXXXXX. Our compliance department has manually reviewed the order and is unable to approve it for processing at this time. We consider online security, which protects both our customers as well as our company, to be a top priority. The $1 you are seeing is a preauthorization hold in anticipation of the order. Since the order was cancelled and no funds captured, the preauthorization hold will be returned to your credit card within 3-6 business days. Our goal is to make our customers smile, which is why we are so sorry to have disappointed you! Karen

I think "shiphappy" stopped working before, and then started working again. So who knows -- just like everything else related to ordering from the company.

I will say that if they "process" your order, the customer experience is good. The cards look great -- personalized and with "gift" in small letters -- and they arrive promptly.

I just don't think anyone will be successful buying more than a few thousand a month -- max.

As a data point, I have made $6000 purchases in the last two weeks without any issue. I made my 7th order today and the SHIPHAPPY code didn't work for me either. Hoping that changes, and that the order goes through.

Did you check with your CC issuer? I find, at least at the beginning, large orders from this website resulting in automatic fraud denials.

No issues here for me - went from submitted to in processing within a few minutes.

I've purchased from them a couple times - and I always have used my Amex Delta Reserve. This is the card I use for all of my random, normal purchases in additional to a little extra spending to hit that $60k bonus.

What card design is everyone choosing, I'd assume people are choosing ones that look most debit card like, but there are thousands.

I tend to choose ones with generic nature scenes that look vaguely like a bank debit card - and I customize them all as well, so if I ever do have to hand it over it has my name on it.

I think the design I choose is called "Blue Wonder" it has a formation of jets flying against the blue sky.

No, but it didn't bother me too much. I had $20 in 'credit' from my last purchase there (sign up for their rewards program). 1% back is enough to cover almost all the fees+shipping.

Hint - when you activate cards (I hope, online) you can see offers below activation receipt (as flash animation). you wouldn't believe what you can get (hint - 'new" shiphappy).

the shiphappy code does not always work, no matter what it says about working until the end of 2015. I had placed 3 orders successfully using the code. That was in August. Now in Sept, the code is no longer valid for whatever reason.
