Dining is very easy to hit the $1,500 in 3 months for many people. $500/month means about $125/week. One dinner out in many cities and you'll get the $125. Remember that "dining" counts the fast casual / fast food places, too.
Last resort: if there's a place you frequent a lot (Starbucks for some) you can buy gift cards that you'll use after Q2.

Would it certainly be my first choice to use up the 5% category? NOOO I'd rather try to meet the $1500 cap via restaurants or regular shopping at BBB or HM but if I am say $400 short of the $1500 cap come June time frame, I will certainly consider buying $200 VGCs or some other GCs just to max out the $1500. OH well.

ROFL...i love how people treat $200 VGCs if not charged on the Ink card as "not worth it". The math works out the same thing since you pay the same stinking price as if you were to buy them from Staples.

$400 (2 VGC's) x %5 CB = $20 UR points - $13.90 fees = $6.10 profit (610 UR Points)
But..forgo buying those VGC's (which you'd otherwise be stuck with and have to liquidate by purchasing other stuff at any store/online in lieu of a higher earning CB or travel card such as the Barclays Arrival at 2.2% back on travel purchases):
$400 x 2.2% CB = $8.88 profit

Do you have some kind of grandfathered no cap Ink card or do you mean the $50k cap is so high it might as well be "no cap?"
