Has anyone loaded with OVs? The RA near my mom no longer takes cc for variable gcs, stating they received an email from corporate that says only fixed value gcs can be purchased with ccs. Might as well try to use them for something.

Interesting. I just bought a variable Vanilla VGC from RA and paid with my CC. Must be store-specific. I did see a posting of somebody else having success loading with a VVGC at RA. I'm going to try at a different RA on my way home.

For those who have their Plenti account activated, look online for a 2000 point "Partner Offer" from Rite-Aid. I activated it a few days ago.

This morning when I purchased two Vanilla MC to get the 500 points, the transaction qualified for the bonus 2000.

I just looked on the plenti.com site. The 2000 points offer i see only applies to allergy products. I see a 500 points for any purchase

Not personally, as all my RAs gladly accept a CC, but an OV is a debit card, so as long as you're not someplace that has tweaked their software to limit them to 49.99, they should work.

Just don't be flash'n 'em.

Rite aid in Northern NY would take gift card for loading serve but with a 3.95 fee today. I mumbled that I didn't realize there was a fee and cancelled

I got that message the very first day I tried to load at RA and after cancelling that transaction it turned out that my finger was to thick as I pushed the wrong line on the screen.

These aren't big stores like WM or TGT that have plenty of cashiers and therefore tolerate lines backing up. They also aren't used to seeing unbanked folks loading thousands. Just because some feel comfortable doing that and think cashiers are fine with it, doesn't mean they're not talking to managers after you leave. I saw one location go cash only from just one ms'r that would bring in multiple debits to use to load. Even some bloggers are encouraging this behavior. There are a few bloggers who are wise stewards of methods and preach wisdom, but most don't.

It really does not matter. At my RA store we were figuring how to load it together and it was a real team effort by 2 associates, manager and myself. I was loading 5x$100. On the other hand it is true what you are saying but only if 20 of us show up at the same store and try to load 10x$100. And just like with RB it might happen sooner than later. I would like us to keep RA for occasional loads but that it is just what it is - wishful thinking.

You are correct, but being as the bloggers and their noob fanboys are crapping up everything with potential anyways, we may as well take advantage with them while it lasts. As bad as we are, they're a lot worse, and there's not much to do to stop the demise of these opportunities. Do what you can while you can, and then go on to the next thing when that's dead. Oh, and if you see a blogger, run the other way.

I think I have similar thing happened (or not) as few ppl encountered at FD using OV debit card to load serve! I have tried loading up a serve card using OV, the manager thought that since the system is new and not updated yet so it won't work but nonetheless allowed me to try it. I loaded the money (I have done few more at other RA stores) so I know what I was doing. Now everything went through except in the end, instead of load receipt, there was a balance inquiry on the terminal. I left the store on Manager's advise (don't want unnecessary attention) that system is still updating the loading software and I should be fine. Anyway reaching home, checking the balance on OV card, it says the debit of $500 at the RA store, I just visited and current balance of $0. I contacted the RA store next day and talk to manager. She took down my number and letting me know that she will call me if the store was over $500 on the day. She called me later and told me they were not over at any of the register the previous day.
So what would be my line of action from now? I know I should wait (just like in FD case, the $$ amount usually get back to the original card in 2-3 weeks) but just wanted to give you guys heads up and see if any one else has similar experience.

Thanks

No problem loading a Metabank VGC to Serve at RA today. My first. :)

There's a Dollar General 2 stores down. I did a 2nd Metabank card there, also with no problem.

I did 2 successful loads today and saw the balance inquiry thing on the pinpad. The money loaded to Serve and I got the successful loaded emails. It appears they are maybe trying to fix the "N/A" balance that prints on the receipt and got it wrong?

I don't mind that the balance doesn't show to be honest...

Also, has anyone figured out a way to do split tenders? The 4 RiteAids I've been to don't know how and I've been doing multiple transactions.

These ladies remember me from AGC days :)
