Except, as you quoted in what I wrote, I've been doing debit loads for months now

Rite Aid 6/14-6/20: get 500 Plenti points ($5) when you buy 2 American Express gift cards, limit 2. Not a great deal, but maybe useful for some people. The usual question: does it work if you buy just 1 variable load card?
Also 500 points for Kohl's $50, Gamestop $25, XBOX $25, Applebee's $50 gift cards. |

I don't think the limit stacks anymore. Stacking of VGC died in or before March 2015 (post #42). If it did stack, then buying 2 VGC would have counted as max limit of 2 deals, but buying 2 VGC only counted as 1 deal. |
So one of my Rite Aids is now clear of all their VGC stock (variable up to $500). What is the process of getting them to restock or order more? I've been pestering for over 2 weeks verbally now as the stock diminishes before my eyes.

Went to buy VGC last night at RA for the first time in a month and swiped my CC and the POS terminal asked me for a PIN. I did have this happen about a year ago at another RA but never had a problem using CC at last night's location. The cashier went to her manager and the manager said they don't take CC, even though they did a month ago.
Some of the RA's in my area already went cash/debit only last year. Wondering if all POS terminals are not accepting CC for these or just new ones (this was a newer one with a chip reader)? I have a few more RA's in my area that I can try. |

Were you buying $1000? No problem here with POS.

I've been buying 1k worth of ovs per store every few days using ccs for the past couple weeks since I'm in a city with RAs. Only ran into one extremely rude cashier tonight that didn't want to ring two together even though I informed her of the 500 plenti point offer that wouldn't work if they were bought separately. Manager said no problem, so ha. Then she didn't want to accept my oos license which she asked for after I swiped and the transaction had went through. She was actually the first cashier to ask for a license during my ov spree.

Someone posted on another thread about the 500 plenti bonus for 2 MCs. I forgot that its only for the OVMCs. No bonus for OVVCs.
I'm so used to buying the OV PPVCs.... |
YMMV.

$5 WG gift card for 2 OVVCs. It's a good way to train the workers they can do more than $500 at a time. You have to take a WG GC to the register for the $5 to work. It took the store I went in a long time to figure it out.
I'll give it a try this week! |
This week Rite Aid has a deal for MyVanilla Prepaid Card (the reloadable one), get 300 plenti points when you buy 1 (this is separate from the Vanilla Mastercard deal, which is 500 points when you buy 2). My store had tags showing the MyVanilla deal on all of the Vanilla Visa gift cards (nonreloadble). Anyone know if a regular Vanilla gift card actually triggers the MyVanilla deal?

I have heard, at RA you should be able to load your serve card after recent changes. Not sure if they are allowing loading with debit card or it is cash load only. I'm going to try this when I go to RA the next time, was curious if anyone is able to do this.

The wise old ms'rs are reporting that if your local store allows debit loads then go very slow, like one card to load per visit. There's reports that some idiots are loading multiple Serve cards per visit and others using multiple debits to load then the store ends up going cash only. These aren't big stores like WM or TGT that have plenty of cashiers and therefore tolerate lines backing up. They also aren't used to seeing unbanked folks loading thousands. Have in mind how you look to others. Sure, veteran ms'rs see a couple 500 cards as no big deal, but others aren't used to that and you look suspicious. Just because some feel comfortable doing that and think cashiers are fine with it, doesn't mean they're not talking to managers after you leave. I saw one location go cash only from just one ms'r that would bring in multiple debits to use to load. Even some bloggers are encouraging this behavior. There are a few bloggers who are wise stewards of methods and preach wisdom, but most don't.
