I think that many people instead used $500 cards which would equate to about 60 payments per month.

Oh, well that's way more reasonable.

Guys, this is why we can't have nice things.

No, it has been PROVED that the decay of society is caused by people reciting nearly meaningless cliches in many many threads. "This is why we can't have nice things" is currently public enemy #1.

Would you have preferred the old standby? --

Data point: Also "data point:"

Er, speaking of: I paid 8 payments to the same payee May 30-31, posted June 2, account still active, so it must be a June thing.

BTW, a couple weeks ago, lots of bloggers shared the info about paying with credit card, specifically MC. I never did that because I preferred to unload VGC from Staples. Did the credit card thing stop working? If not, then that's the easy solution to the new rules.

yes, they fixed it within a few days of the blog posting.

Whether or not each of us did 1 payment, 5 payments, or 500 payments, they were eventually going to figure out THEY WERENT MAKING MONEY. Those that are making tons of payments are likely not the ones paying overnight fees, etc. Clearly their solution should be to come up with a way to make money off of those of us who want that capability. But instead they choose to continue losing money from those of us, just in smaller numbers....or shut down those accounts they knew they werent going to make money off of.

If people have monthly payments to make and they need to keep track of the 30-day window, then it means trying to make payments on exactly the same days each month. 35 or 40 allows for a small buffer.

You would want it the other way - every 20 or 25 days. If you do 35 or 40 you wouldn't be able to pay the same large bill two months in a row.

Well, it's now Thursday night. Anybody with a bill over $3000 trying to the weekend payment thing? Anybody successfully load over 4 payments tonight?

You're right! I had it backwards.

anyone tried a blocked payee from another account yet? I'll give it a shot unless someone has a report

heyeaglefn Jun 6, 2014 7:19 am

When they block the payee they block it across all accounts, but you can try.

Has this company been properly vetted? Has someone done due diligence?

Are they operating primarily on float?

We have seen massive customer clawbacks in the past with some companies.
