helpful advice

You have to call the number on the back to set the pin.

You can not use the last 4 digits.

It did not work for me

One note - I took a long shot at seeing if it would code as a travel purchase on my Barclays Arrival card. It didn't.
Thank you. Anyone have any experience with Citi cards? Citi cards seem to be the ones that attract the cash advance fees all the time. Although, I don't see how it could post as CA after the transaction posts as AAA Auto Club South (for me).

Citi runs it as a regular charge...tried my TY Premier in hopes that it would be ring up under Entertainment (3x) since my SPG Amex classified it as Entertainment - Associations, but alas it showed up as Automobile Association only.

I tried to buy some on Saturday after 2 PM and they said that their gift card system wasn't working. They said that it was probably because the banks were closed for the Holiday. Just thought I'd post that here, because if that's the case, their gift card system won't work today since it's Veterans Day. I'd wait until Tuesday.

I just returned from AAA and was able to buy 4-$500 gift cards using my AM EX Delta. I live in Indiana. No fees but you do have to have a membership which I had gotten last month purely for hotel discounts.

My wife picked up 1x$500. She only got one as the rep there said it may show up as cash advance. She used her SPG card. The Amex website did not show it as a cash advance. I was able to set the pin by calling the # on the back of the gift card. I was able to load it onto my BB with no problem.

AmEx only is what I've found in SNE. Report back if you find some fee-free visa's!

They have visa gift cards in this mid-west state but they say they are not aware of any no-fee promotion going on.

What am I missing here? When I go to buy the cards online, I see they have a $4.95 load fee (not waived), no shipping fee, and only payable by Visa/MC/Discover. I was expecting to be able to pay online with Amex and only be charged the shipping fee.

You have to go to an AAA office to get them. And, the fee waiver is only in some area.

Not available with my AAA region (EastCentral). They say they don't sell gift cards at all… bummer
