I just dropped by my local AAA Carolinas office and they were not aware of the no-fee for November and December. They asked about everyone in the office and no one had heard of it.
Maybe we need a website stating no fee or a scan of the magazine. they also mentioned that even though AAA is a national organization, each region operates independent of each other, so if mid-west is offering the promotion, the Carolinas may not.

Where are you seeing this offer? I'd be happy to swing by my local AAA to see if offer is available at their offices and then post what I uncover, but would prefer to take some sort of info to back my inquiry.
Sorry, I did not see this sooner.
It in the November/December 2013 issue of AAA World magazine (MidAtlantic division).

Not available in most areas...
The gift cards?
How are you able to determine that?"

Data Point:
I just opened the "AAA Horizons" magazine I received this week (AAA Southern New England)
I have a 1-page advertisement for "Fee-Free" AmEx GC's (purchase fee waived when buying 5 or more cards) Offer valid 11/1 - 12/31
Looks like an offer that varies by region.

Looks like we are at least making progress.
Maybe someone start a thread wiki of regions with success and regions that were not successful.
ntjane66, I am glad you were able to get you one and then go liquidate through WM MO. that is a .14 cents a point. Not a bad deal at all. Did they mention any limits on how many, how much, of anything of that nature? If not, its time to pour the gravy train out till christmas

I could see that if it was an on-line order, but in the store it really *should* be a purchase, how would the CC company know you were buying a Gift Card and not making a payment on a vacation?

1. I CAN purchase these with my CC in store
2. This brings my CPP down a little, but this ends up being not as profitable (for me) as doing AmEx through a CB portal and liquidating.
