It's going down, The Walmart printer
You cannot move, the staff will prance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the clerk you won't forget

Wooooah (printer), wooooah (printer), wooooah (it's going down)
Wooooah (printer), wooooah (printer), wooooah (it's going down)

[Pitbull]
The bigger the Mo orders are, the harder they fall
These big-iddy ST cards are dig-gidy dogs
I have 'em like Walmart managers, blue shirts on
People of Walmart Twerking in their bras and thongs, printer
Face down, booty up, timber
That's the way we like to–what?–printer
My MS makes me slicker than an oil spill
She say she won't fix it but I bet she will, printer

Swipe your debit card round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down...

Hello, wherever you are
Are you hitting up a Walmart or the drugstore that takes cards?
Tonight we load our birds, with gift cards or VRs
And we don't pay in cash 'cause that's just who we are :D

Everyone needs to go to Google and type in images: "People of Walmart".

Why? Because I hope this song never comes true! :D

TOO FUNNY! I also enjoyed your rendition of Lorde's "Team". :) ^

Ah, thanks Fink. I actually found a location in West Oahu that had lots of Beans. REALLY friendly cashiers and no problems! I loaded up before returning to Philly. Now I have to see if the knuckleheads at my go-to Philly location are as friendly; probably not.

I agree about the friendly cashiers in Hawaii. Always very pleasant, and when the first shock of wanting 5K of VRs is over, they do their cashier duties in a professional and timely manner. The wife and I will buy 5K each when we visit a Long's, and after the first trip or two, they know us, and are chatty and friendly. When in Hawaii, I'll buy up to 45K to 50K at a few different stores, and load the current month and the next month too. The Long's cashiers certainly makes it easy.

I usually get my VR in west Oahu too. It's possible to find in the honolulu area but when it's there is goes fast.

I went to CVS to buy Vanilla Visas with some AmEx GCs and the cashier asked me if I wanted any VRs because they had some in stock. I don't need any more this month but I guess she knows me pretty well now. It's nice to have friendly and accommodating staff at the CVS nearest my work and home.

One reason to keep BB is that serve requires five times as many trips to CVS. I think the ability to load an extra $1k per month (or $2k if you have a good debit set up), plus saving $39.50 for every $5k loaded, makes serve the better pick for many if not most. But for the guy who lives in a VR plentiful city and just does one $5k BB a month, I can see the benefit of just making one trip and one swipe, 12 times a year, for $60k and done. Time and gas have a cost too.

In that case, you can still reload Serve with VR.

There is NO reason to not have Serve over BlueBird, unless you need the checks. That is why we are keeping one BB, and converting rest to Serve.

Even still, Serve has...

1. Higher Limits on loads, $7k between store/credit/debit.
2. NO FEES on instore cc loads.
3. NO NEED to to hunt down VR.

Even if CVS takes away the credit card loads, even if.... you can still load with vanilla reload, AND credit card online.

...but it's ok, keep using BB. Less on Serve. =)

So far, the 5 or 6 CVS stores I visit, I am one of the only ones reloading Serve at cash register. I do know 3 of my stores are visited by other MS'ers, and still hunt VR.

The solution to that is to get multiple Serve cards. 10x500 swipes is marginally more time consuming than 1x5000.

1) Welcome to flyertalk.

2) You're fighting the hypothetical.

You hit the nail on the head. For those of us who have multiple cards that are fed with VRs, we make more than 5 trips to CVS anyways. In fact, by moving some BBs to Serve, we can limit ourselves to 5 trips instead of +5 trips.

But for those with only 1 VR-enabled card, sticking with BB may make more sense.

How do you get 50K of gift cards back home? Just stash them in your carry-on and hope for the best?

brettskyg Mar 8, 2014 7:30 pm

I just had a problem at one of my local bean distributors. This particular store will allow 5k purchase but not single transaction over 1k. I was buying 2k total. Each of my two transactions were on two different cards bc my first card got a fraud alert and I figured I would call the bank when I got home. I was there again and just as the cashier was about to ring me up another employee ran in and stopped him and said this is the guy this is the guy. I said excuse me? He said corp sent a letter to the managers stating that you can only use 1 credit card per day or for all of your transactions and can not use multiple cards. I showed him my id and credit cards to prove my identity and by the end of the conversation we joked about it and he told me to speak to the manager this week. It's always a very friendly neighborhood store so I do not anticipate any problems. Not sure why two separate credit cards got them upset but now I know for the future to stick with the same card for all transactions. Not a big deal just another rule to learn in this game. The kid claimed it was a patriot act issue post 9-11 and there are a lot of terrorists who use these cards. I said ok I understand not a problem. He told me that they had a dozen plus names on the list they received and their instructions were that the managers had to verify identity of the purchasers before future transactions for counter terrorism reasons. Absurd but whatever.
