I don't get it - I tested it and Paypal won't count fee free transfers into your account against your IRS totals. At least not on the tax report. Is that not so?

I was under the impression your best bet was MyCash > PP#1 > PP#2 > withdraw.

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on this. Been MS'ing for a few years and started the PP deal a few months back but trying to cover my tracks by transferring and get away from the watchful eye of PP and keep my account open. I realized you can attach Serve directly to PP and withdraw the MyCash, but this seems fishy to me. If this has been working for people without raising their eyebrows I would love to skip the extra step Ive been doing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Withdrawing from PP to Serve is the same as with withdrawing to any other bank, as far as I know.

That is the way it struck me too, especially considering you would need to supply an account/routing number. Didnt look too safe to me, not trying to get my account frozen.

Im new to MS, so please forgive me if this question has been answered. Ive read through most of the paypal thread and I couldnt find anything reagrding using Amex gift cards as a back up payment method for the Paypal Business Debit card.

To be more clear, is there any problem with adding an Amex gift card as back up funding on my paypal account and then using the paypal debit card to make a payment with evolve?

Is this a good way to liquidate Amex gift cards and doe sthis risk having your paypal account shutdown?

No, unfortunately, they only let you add either a bank account or their credit card (PP Extras MC) as a backup source.

Are you sure about that? I know you can add regular credit card as the back up funding for the Paypal debit card, not just the Paypal Extras MC. I tested it out by adding an Amex gift card as back up funding and I made a $25 payment using evolve and it seems to have gone through fine. The payment showed up against my car payment.

Im just not sure if Paypal will shut down an account if you keep adding many different gift cards as the back up funding.

Ive read on a few paypal blogs where a rep from Paypal replied that you can use gift cards as the back up funding as long as the system accepts it when you enter the card info and that it may not accept some gift cards if they are unable to verify the card billing address.

As far as the PP debit card, are you referring to to the business card or the prepaid? Is it worth switching an account to the premier to have access to the business card to be able to load to BB or Evolve? Just trying to assess the least risk and not sure if that is MyCash->PP1->PP2->withdraw or using one of the cards to withdraw to BB or the like.

Hmm, that's weird. I only have three options for backup payment method for my PP Biz MC: checking account, apply for PP Extras MC, and no backup payment method. I have a CC and a bank debit card in my profile but those aren't listed as options.

Checked two PP business accounts and they have the same options above. Are you sure you're referring to the PP Biz MC and not the personal one?

I'm with lad2; my PP account doesn't allow credit cards as a backup funding souce.

Can i use VGC to fund a PP biz debit MC?

That would make sense. I'm curious about the risk of PP shutdown if I consistently online load $1k/month to Serve using my PP biz debit. Any stories of shutdown due to this? Haven't seen any posted.

From what I have gathered from the bulk of this thread, that is the safest way to accomplish the PP deal. Shutdowns are possible this way as well, but it seems to be the best bet. Although I would still not make a bunch of transfers for the same amount month after month, maybe mix it up.

I have the Business Debit card. I believe I have a premier account. I can add credit cards to my account but I have to go into the options to make that my primary back up funding, otherwise it uses my Smart Connect as the back up.

The menu for doing that is hard to find, I can't even remember exactly how I got to it. I had to take my Smart Connect off as my back up funding method and then it allowed me to choose the added gift card as the default back up.
