just got my 2nd card into spend down mode... did 6 loads ok.. a few days later 2 more loads and card got shut down... pretty quick... Didn't even do any unloading yet

I think there must be a large random element to the shutdown process and newer accounts are probably more likely to get whacked than older ones, because I have not been shut down yet and based on the reports it seems like I should have been by now. I have 3 cards that I use mainly to load 2k and unload 10 mins later with MO purchases (I vary the amounts slightly), and maybe a CA for $2498 once a month or so on each card right after loading 2.5k. I never mix in small transactions and never leave a balance of more than a dollar or two on the card more than 10 minutes unless the line is really long at WM (though I do make sure the balances stay positive). If I had to make a bunch of small purchases or give them float or whatever it wouldn't have been worth it to me to even use the card over GC, and that stuff doesn't seem to have helped anyway. I started out just doing MO and no CA on the belief that CA=shutdown, and did my first CA to drain a card when it was declined due to one of their new undisclosed limits on debit purchases. One thing that could possibly be a factor in my continued survival is that I never loaded more than 2.5k before cashing out. It seems like some shutdowns were triggered by a large load of funds to the card, and maybe they look for people with high balances or who add more VR cards on a day when their balance isn't running low. But people have been shut down for doing much less blatant MS than I'm still getting away with.

Is anyone else having trouble logging into their MVD account online? I've tried several times today and keep getting an 'invalid username/password" message. It allowed me to change my password but I'm still getting the same error message when trying to log in. Same for my wife's account - which she hasn't used in months. I use mine regularly.

Your game is over. You are in spend down mode.

Is there a difference between spend down CAN log in and spend down CAN NOT log in?

I can log in and can see the status set to spend down. Hoping they just want docs.

Think I'll buy three of these today at CVS. Register one, start using slowly, then register the others. I figure I can MS around 10-15K through three of these before I get shut down, right?

You were right. That was quick too. I'd only been using this card for MS for 5-6 weeks. Interestingly, my wife's card was shut down and she had only used it for MS once, probably 3-4 months ago.

Can I buy a new MVD and start over again? Should I register it? If I don't register it, will I still be able to reload it?

If I'm just buying MO and no CA... can I still load it with VR even if I don't register the card?

You can not load an unregistered card.

Random question: What happens if you try to load a VR to a card that doesn't accept it? Does the VR site give you some sort of an error?

Yes. Then you cancel the transaction, start over and load to a different card
