Regarding the upgrades, I thought upgrades are based on view/terrace?
E.g. terrace to next terrace, full view to full view.

I don't wish to steer this thread OT but what offers have they got running at Shangri La London at the moment? A Google search didn't reveal anything.

A Google search will probably not reveal Virtuoso or Luxury Circle promotions. Even absent any promotions, Luxury Circle confirmed upgrades and benefits are always possible.

I'm afraid I do disagree. DavidO runs a blog called ThirdNightFree which details many offers. Lots of travel agents put details of them on their websites and Google is usually a great way to find out about them.

Looks like Shangri-La (Paris) has a Pay2/Stay3 offer through December, and London has a few offers as well, including Pay3/Stay4.

The Ritz Paris
Just finished a two night stay at the Ritz Paris and it was amazing. It has been a long time since I am this impressed by a hotel. Everything from the gorgeous physical product to the breath taking decor to the service, the F&B, everything is outstanding and the attention to detail is phenomenal. And it has hands down the best bed I have ever slept in.
Will try to update here with more photos and a review.

Gallivanter's reporting on Twitter that Rosewood's Hotel De Crillon released their new website with a myriad of pictures and info:
https://www.rosewoodhotels.com/en/hotel-de-crillon
Stunning... taste is debatable as usual but I prefer the interiors over the Ritz. Very much looks like the renovation the building deserved.
My favorite detail is probably the Nespresso machine clad in hand-stitched, quilted leather... mon dieu, that's attention to detail! I can clearly spot the suites designed by Karl Lagerfeld, not hard to see.
Some suites are a little on the smaller side, even with queen beds (why?!), but I will have to inspect them myself. Judging the pictures, bathrooms are probably my favorite areas (great details, great lighting). The mirrored book stand was a risky decision in the 18th century surroundings, but it is not too bad. Glad they didn't turn it into Raffles...
Interiors are much more contemporary than Ritz.
Even opening rates surpass George V levels... quite a statement!

Looks gorgeous. Adding to list of places to stop by in September/October. Have my apartment for a 10 night stay.
