Bermuda is a golf course, and the beach has to be reached by car.

Recently booked a client here as they were just looking to review the newly renovated rooms. Depending on when you'll be visiting, I dont think everything will be up and running till end of May. But as previously mentioned, not ideal for beach trip.
The Loren is a newly opened beach resort in Bermuda but I've gotten mixed feedback...I'd say mostly positive but service is not always consistent. hard product is great.

A complete left turn may be the Four Seasons Surfside Beach Club. It's fab and isnt' too far! It's not white sand of course.
If you want white sand, maybe Amanyara as the Season of Discovery is now out: 1 free night + full board (breakfast, 2 course lunch, 3 course dinner) the best value they offer all year round.

I should add a bit about the Rosewood Bermuda, since this is a Rosewood thread after all...

If you are not into golf, it is probably not the right hotel choice for you. However if you are into golf, it is a really fabulous choice. The hotel and restaurant are very nice, but they are not the star. The star is the golf course which is one of the best on an island of amazing golf courses. When I was there, Mayor Bloomberg would jet down each weekend, Silvio Berlusconi also had a mansion nearby, and various other billionaires and retired pro golfers, etc. And somehow they let me play there too.

But I think all the wealth of Bermuda is why Rosewood decided to take over the management of this property which is not at all like their other hotels.

NY Times interview with the VP Marketing for Rosewood, Europe and Americas

More about the person than the hotel group, but an interesting story none-the-less.

I've had a few clients visit Rosewood Phuket and thought I'd share some insights...General/high level feedback: good but not great...I think the front office team still need some polishing (maybe a decent amount, actually).
The hard product is great and soft product is similar to what Amanpuri is providing these days (which is inconsistent).
Booking as a Rosewood Elite Agent, usually means very great partnership from respective Rosewood properties, however, a bit of hit or miss here (frustrating!!!).

How about beach, views etc?

I notice pretty much all the marketing material shows views facing "left" side of the property, because I have a very sneaky feeling the views "right" of the property aren't as attractive (Patong, Patong Beach and sections of Patong's skyline).

Also, noise level? It's really not at all very far from Patong.

Baha mar just opened... it's the same complex as SLS and Hyatt so it shares the casino/restaurants/beach/most pools. it's a nice short flight from new york. the beach isn't bad, but with the other properties, i don't think it's what you are looking for for peace and quiet especially on a weekend or holiday. resort fee is also 98 at rosewood vs 60 at SLS
