No more high prices, either - very affordable accommodation with caring staff, in true Amanresorts style. This is AZ's new mantra.
Fascinating, we like it. ^

So happy the aman ethos continues , refreshed.
I can envisage the next destinations after LP , to be in Sri Lanka and Cuba .
Now if you could just share its new name , after all its just us here and we won't tell , ok ?

Yes, definitely open by Jan 2017. Soft opening is scheduled for October 2016. The new name is taking a very long time to register worldwide, hence the delay.

Now I am also very interested...the quality, service to price ratio seems to be very promising

Since I am a few blocks up , no more sleepless in Seattle but under the weather in NYC , UES , I should take a Sunday stroll to check it out - supposed to be a stormy Sunday so we shall see . It was actually my stays at Puri that brought me to the city again , since there were links back then .
Was parking myself at MONY ( lovely views from rooms I have been in plus similar to LandmarkMO being in a mixed complex . Checked it out again this time & glad I did ) while it was being refurbished here - some of you know where " here " is .
Pleased now to return & relieved that the new team is still warm though not quite Aman

It will likely be an option in future , central to certain shops & close enough to walk to Carnegie Hall .
I will split my stays , perhaps even 3 ways if I decide on hotels & not at home .
But with yesterday's parade road closures , getting to & from it certain Sunday's or parade days can pose a challenge . Was going to return to get a photo taken but it certainly was not possible with winds gusting & the rain being blown horizontally !

from NYpost linked above >

Aman hotel plus 23 ultraluxury condominium
if few (80?) rooms with pool, will be interesting
could do a few huge suites, whatever entry is

condos could include huge / super expensive

deal for building happened previously, was at least mentioned here

lyndaharris.wordpress.com/public-projects/aman-hotel-and-spa-shanghai-china/
seems like some of the villa settings will be incredible

Ahn Luh Lanting in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, and Ahn Luh Zhujiajiao on the outskirts of Shanghai are cooperations between the Indonesian hotel brand and Qin Tongqian, a collector of old houses and furniture with thousands of pieces that are decades or even centuries old in his warehouse.

I know we can't post anything about the name of AZ's new group until July, as it is still being registered worldwide.
