Not sure if this is relevant information but I flew MH domestic yesterday and the inflight magazine focused on the Johor Bahru area and nearby Desaru coast. AMAN resort was confirmed but no specific opening date.

Well, he doesn't actually say that AZ said that. It was the commentator who said that! Also, whoever is commenting is obviously visiting the site for the first time, so actually tells us nothing of relevance, but makes a meal of conjecture.
