dont forget scale of image, due to height of camera

40m upper
30m lower
15m indoor spa
three 12m near rooms
one 10m? near room
childrens pool (plunge)
spa cold pool (plunge)
(30m / 40m are bigger than many hotels)
from €15K (apr/oct?)

amanzoe resort pools are "only" 25m

Would guess the 4 are equal to the "normal" pools. So not really plunge, but not as bis as the 2 "resort-pools"

Villa 20 makes most Puri villas look like beach shelters. But at 25k€ per night, it's rather on the higher end of the high-end market.

Looks really dreadful to me. :roll eyes:

Whatever aesthetic 'zoe is aiming for just does not work at all at that scale.

Actually, it's kinda like an Aman Monster Truck. Only pretty much all Monster Truck and pretty much no Aman.

Yes , , this is what pioneer Amanjunkies were dreading . Besides the erosion of the ethos , not understood by newbie staff , ..

Horror of horrors . Was too shocked to post before.
If we reflect on Greek architecture or look at their ruins , how / where does this fit in ?
Those were " opulent " but were grand & in right scale - this is just , as you have pointed out " Monster Truck " .
Oh dear , hope not more to come in other Amans ..

Saw this coming... The core problem with Zoe's Villa 20 is this horrendous aerial photograph. We get it, they can afford to get a drone snap a few pics. Why put this on the front page of the website? To me, the size is not the issue. Back in the day the Puri villas were considered huge, too. They helped finance the resort as per AZ's idea. But this photo is really bad. Bragging. Not understatement. Also, no one mentioned the terrible choices they made in terms of artwork throughout the villa. Oh dear. What were they thinking? Ed Tuttle has worked with Roseline Granet so many times in the past (Le Mélézin, Park Hyatt Vendome), he even commissioned some pieces for Zoe. Obviously not for Villa 20, which is a shame. I love her work. The stuff they put in is a disgrace for the rest of the architecture. Especially this odd thing by the indoor pool - would be a better fit for one of the uber-contemporary behemoths in LA's Trousdale Estates, pretty sure Jennifer Aniston would start a bidding war. Art is a matter of taste of course, but in this case it exemplifies what went wrong with this villa. And now let's talk about the games room with the billiards table and, lo and behold, jukebox. In red. Glossy red.

Apparently the villa was co-designed by Ed Tuttle and Marios Angelopoulos. I do think some parts are very beautiful, such as the living areas which flow indoor/outdoor, with excellent decor (hello Ed) - I'm not sure though, who Marios Angelopoulos is? Anyone knows? I have a feeling he handcuffed Ed somewhere when the games room came up to wave his decorative wand over the place and dress it all up in this girlish-glam retro red.
