Hi All,
I have a ADB-MUC-BRU in September with a 2h30min layover. ADB-MUC is a SunExpress-operated codeshare with LH (in eco), the MUC-BRU is a LH ticket (in biz), all on a single eticket.
I was expecting XQ to operate from T2 but it seems they operate from T1. How easy is the T1 (Non Schengen) to T2 (Schengen) connection? It would be better to go first to T2, then go through passport control and security there, or to clear passport control and security in T1 and then go to T2 (or follow arrivals and then go walking to T2)?. As the MUC-BRU is in biz class I assume I could use fast track security if that helps in any route.

The bus from T1 to T2 does not run frequently, so the wait for the bus could be longer than expected.

I would go for the landside route. The walk from T1 to T2 would take not more than 5-10 minutes ( depending on walking speed ). Then use the fast-track security checkpoint at T2. If you're an EU citizen, there should be e-gates at Terminal 1 for immigration.

lufthansa gate closing times?
Hi Guys,
I am looking at traveling to Sofia from LHR, I have seen an option which works well but note I only have 50 mins to connect. Usually that would be sufficent, but if we have any delay at LHR and looking at a few flight time sites it shows there are delays, I may run into trouble. I wanted to check how long before the depature do they close gates? Assuming I am 10-15 mins on inbound. I looked at todays arrivals and depatures and they had arrivals at T2 L23 and my next flight departed from T2 H24 how far are terminals H and L, I am aware they wont be the same? Assuming I land within 20 mins of the landing time, will they hold the flight for me or deny boarding?

While Munich is great at short connections, LHR flights are always prone to delays so this can work but be prepared to be rebooked to a later flight. I would book it but potentially expect not arriving on my booked flight.

A small reminder that gates in MUC change every day, you might face an arrival at a remote stand near T1 and a 10 min bus ride to T2 and a walk to L gates which could take up to 30 minutes; you could also end up arriving and departing at the adjacent gates.
A 50-minute transfer is definitely doable; if you miss the flight due to a delay at the LHR-MUC leg, you would be rebooked to the next SOF flight and upon request, they may book you to a Bulgaria Air flight if it's earlier than the first available LH flight. Also, if LH can't take you to MUC within the 3h period after your original arrival time, you would be eligible for €400 which I guess is much more than a roundtrip LHR-SOF ticket.

Transit Advice for Munich
I’m flying from Glasgow to Vienna (Lufthansa & Austrian Airlines) and changing at Munich.
(LH2519 & LH6454 on the same ticket number)
I have a UK passport.
Could someone please advise, when I transit at Munich do I have to go through passport control and security?
Is it usually a hassle free transfer?
Thanks in advance, I’ve never ever flown to Germany or Austria before and it’s also been over 10 years since I’ve flown to anywhere in Europe.

Thanks Chris that’s very helpful.
Our arrival from Glasgow and departure to Vienna are both in Terminal 2
So it’s just passport control and no need to go through security again!

you do go through passport control as this is where you enter Schengen
As you are all LH at MUC you should not need to clear security.
Terminal 2 has two buildings, one houses G and H gates, the other K and L gates. you might need to transit between then on the train. The train runs every 2 or 3 minutes and takes about one minute.
