I believe your TA should try:

MUC-GVA-ZRH-VIE-ZRH-DUS-GVA-ZRH-CDG-GVA-ZRH-DUS-ZRH-GVA-MUC.

This combines

MUC-GVA-ZRH-VIE-ZRH-GVA-MUC
ZRH-DUS-ZRH
DUS-GVA-ZRH-CDG-GVA-ZRH-DUS

Nice and clear return tickets. I haven't priced it, but it should be about 2*700 Euro plus about 400 SFR for the Ex-Switzerland ticket. This should be 24.000 miles before Bonus. However, 1400 Euro is not bad either for a big pile of status miles in a short period of time.
That is what I proposed to the TA originally as mentioned on page 2 in this thread. However, the system won't allow DUS-GVA-ZRH-CDG-GVA-ZRH-DUS, as it contains twice the same segment (GVA-ZRH).

My booking actually consists of two tickets:
MUC-GVA-ZRH-VIE-ZRH-DUS
and
DUS-ZRH-CDG-GVA-ZRH-MUC
with the TA claiming there is a problem with MCT at CDG, therefore CDG-ZRH is not possible on the second ticket.
If I wanted to do it in 3 days instead of the 2 days I have, there would be no problems

So why not change it to DUS - GVA - ZRH - CDG - GVA - ZRH - DUS? This avoids the problem mentioned. MCT can be an issue but as long as you are on seperate tickets it is your risk (a small risk considering that it is the same a/c).

Here is the result for routing according to http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...5&postcount=22 , 1507 EUR incl. taxes and incl. 90 EUR tip for the TA (if I decide to issue via the TA and not by phone in the US as suggested recently in another thread, may get cheaper even more). Still only 19k+whatever the L/E in economy brings+exec bonus, but can't fit more flights into the 2.5 days I have. Any airport hotel recommendations for DUS and ZRH?

day 1 06:55 MUC 08:10 GVA LX3679 1h15 Business (Z)

The flyer of today should have someone at most airports - like the sailors in former times...

I'm just sat here doing the wife's MR for *S... target is 19,000 or more.

At the moment, it's all based on JSWISSUK / JSWISSDE

LHR-ZRH-MUC-ZRH-LHR
MUC-GVA-ZRH-VIE-ZRH-GVA-MUC

I get the mileage out at 23,750 (inc. her 25% bonus), and the cost is ~GBP760. That's flying out and back over a Saturday/Sunday in August.

now that I think of it, why not do just simply MUC-GVA-ZRH-VIE-ZRH-GVA-MUC twice during a weekend, nice 22.000 miles before bonuses, no hassle. Probably will get a bit boring after some time, but why not to try.

I'd rather do a FRA-SYD return in one go than to do all of this short haul stuff... I think OZ still has the SYD J return on offer for ca. € 2500 with a oneway upgrade to F FRA-ICN thrown in for good measure.

Wonder how you got this priced since I checked class availability of J for all segments (ok) but it only prices me the trip at Z
Any hints what I have done wrong? Thanks!

Can you manage it during Saturday/Sunday? What is the yield in miles on that trip?

42.148 status miles FRA-ICN-SYD return in J. Works out at about € 0,06 per status mile. (tax IIRC not included). However, be warned about OZ's J class on the 747....the seat might have been revolutionary in the 1980's ...

*** oh, and by the way it's no good as a HON run, only as a SEN run as you don't get HON miles on OZ ***

I think you have to call to get that routing; the fare basis JSWISSDE clearly allows that as a routing, but LH.com gets all silly and prices it in Z, and nothing else I've come across has enough sector fields to be able to price it all through. But the fare rule is absolutely explicit. So I'll call them and book the whole lot on the phone, and say adios for the wife.

I did LHR-SIN-SYD-SIN-LHR over a weekend. Left work at 18:00 on Friday, went to LHR. Dep LHR at 22:00, arrive SYD at 05:50 +2 - time for breakfast and lunch on Bondi Beach with friends. Dep SYD 15:40 arrive LHR 05:55 +1, and went to work. 22,000 miles or so, and about £700 on SQ (IIRC).

Similarly tht and I did in May this year AKL-LAX-LHR-HKG-AKL in a weekend (trip report), for even more miles at a much lower fare. We had half a day in London. tht suprised Mom on her birthday while I took a side trip to BHD

another nice mr with sas (double m+m status-/ and bonus miles promotion, no sen/hon bonus) in c - valid until 08/31/07:

germany *for me haj*/cph/nrt/cph/germany
= 2.300 eur and 47.400 status + bonus miles = 48.4 eur / 1000 miles. ^

i`ll do it between 08/09 and 08/13.......

At least on LH.COM it is impossible to book LH codeshares with a LX number. This could be one source of the problem.
