...... and once again successfully kept UA out of the FRA-LAX market ...... IMHO a steep price for UA to pay.

Exclamation DUS-LAX in summer 09 on LH

In today's issue of the weekly German magazine "Fokus" they are talking about how bad the current fuel price is for Air Berlin. (big news )

The last sentence says that Lufthansa will start Los Angeles service out of Duesseldorf next summer! That is real news, at least for me!

Sorry, I couldn't find the DUS longhaul thread

Today seems to be the day of digging up ancient threads !

DUS-LAX could be interesting, but let's wait and see which route expansions actually make it in the current (fuel) climate !?

BTW, have we had a thread yet on DUS FAs are much better than FRA or even MUC based crews" ?

Not yet, but the crew I flew with on DUS-YYZ and YYZ-DUS (the next day) was very friendly, and very accomodating. Two great flights, despite flying Y both ways.

Our moderators would recycle those threads anyway. If we don't do a search, we get in trouble...

I would be kind of careful as well. The article also said that the LH North America flights are 90% filled that's why they think about the expansion.

I think the discussion came up once but we pretty soon figured out that DUS FAs are from FRA

Yep, that's an interesting question. In addition to this I am still waiting for some new destinations for the yet to be finished SXF. I'd love to stop in Berlin more often again

We need more data on this. It's just a random sample so far

That's not what the Purser on my flights said - she was based in DUS and had flown short-haul for years and was excited to start flying long-haul again.

Wow. Very exciting. There are three cities she gets to see. Pretty Newark, NJ, if she's lucky, she makes it to Manhattan, Chicago and Toronto. If she has made use of her goody to buy cheap tickets on LH, she might have been in all of the three cities a couple of times already.

Did she say she was DUS based or was she from DUS? There is plenty of FRA based crew that origins from all over Europe and just commutes to work by plane but they are considered FRA based crews!
