Its definitely oversold in Y, but usually on a P fare you are unlikely to be moved to F. I would approach the checkin agent sitting at the F/*G desk and ask if they need volonteers. Compensation is about 600€, so don't get too excited. Also note that the CAI inventory shown to you may not neccessarily be available. If they want to rebook you they will call the FM of the CAI flight and ask if its OK to push over a passenger....

Bear in mind that FRA-CAI will be on the A321 so effectively you will be downgraded without compensation (other than for VDB).

LH 632 departure is 13:50. The next *A FRA-CAI Flight is 3pm on MS. The MS flights actually have a tolerable business class, unlike the LH 320/321 birds that are really econ seats with the middle seats blocked out.

If they agree to put you on another *A carrier but don't expect it to happen unless they are desperate.

Oliver, thank you for your speedy and insightful reply. On a June 19, 2017 DMM-FRA LH flight booked in "P" class, I got the coveted OP UP to First Class.

I thought for VDBs, especially in business class, that LH had a bit more VDB room than 600 Euros. You are right, I would not get excited about 600 Euros.

Thank you! So no point in bidding for an upgrade from Premium Economy to Business on the outbound flight.

Could someone with access to the system post seat availability? Currently I cannot choose a bulkhead seat (in particular on the return flight, bulkhead window seats) and I'd love to know whether they are actually occupied or will become available once check-in opens.

Thanks again!

Seatmaps on ExpertFlyer are not terribly helpful since many seats which are not already taken are blocked. I don't really know what this means.
Do they look anything like what you see when you try to select/change seats?

Hi, could someone be kind enough to run a load check on:

LH 431 on 27.Sept (ORD-FRA)

Thanks.

Haven't flown on the LH 747-8 before; always have been on the A330/340/380.

Sorry, I am actually flying Premium Economy so if you could repost ExpertFlyer results for that I would be able to compare it with what I see on the LH site. One thing I can say already is that on the LH site I cannot see the difference between a blocked seat and an occupied one. They all look either occupied or unoccupied.

I think the front row is either blocked for status pax or as bassinet seats.

Oh Wise LH LoadMaster Predictors: I just checked EP again and for my Sept 12 FRA-DMM flight they list the following load: F1 A1 J0 C0 D0 Z0 P0 G0 E0 N0 Y0 B0 M0 U0 H0 Q0 V0 W0 S0 T0 L0 K0.

What do you think the chance that both Econ, Prem Econ and Business Class are all oversold ?? The loads on Sept 11 and 13 are pretty comparable.

Thanks, good to know that 22A/K are blocked rather than occupied. I flew Shanghai - Frankfurt in Premium Economy with LH on an A380 last year. On that flight the bulkhead seats actually became available once online check-in started and I was able to get 22K despite not having any status. Seeing that the seats I'm interested in are only blocked at the moment, I might be lucky again
