Seems to be working normally again. Wonder how long that will last.

Pool miles problem

FYI - there is currently a problem where the website/app shows your pooled miles correctly but when you try book it says you don't have enough miles (even if you have enough pooled miles).

Long story - Had the above problem last night. Called M&M this morning, they couldn't see the same availability as I could and advised me to phone the tech line, which I did and they told me the same thing and that nothing was wrong with the website. I tried booking per website and app again this evening and had the same problem. Phoned the tech line and the lady immediately confirmed there is a problem with pooled miles. She could see the availability and booked it for me immediately.

PS: The lady could unfortunately not say when it might be fixed, but if the error occurs then just call in.

Yes, I searched for and found availability for AKL-NRT-AKL and AKL-PVG-AKL this year in March.

You're lucky. I checked also AKL-NRT-AKL and PVG and only Y available. Air New Zealand C is really hard to book.

I would like to book HKG to MEL via SYD. Does this really cause a 3 region award (that's what the hotline tells me)?

Can you list all cities in between (if any)? Let's say, you fly HKG-SIN-SYD, then yes, that's 3 regions.

Which *A airline is bookable SYD to MEL?

Would become something like HKG-HND-SYD-SIN-MEL, as there are indeed no *A options & in any case these MEL-SYD flights can be purchased on other airlines for 100$ R/T...

Book direct to MEL (OJ if doing a R/T) and a stand-alone domestic flight instead.

Ah I had a typo. I mean HKG-MEL via SIN... which then means a 3-zone award as

recently I have checked similar routes. To MEL you would be able to go via AKL by NZ but I was not able to find C. Only Y.

HKG-AKL-MEL

If you route through another city in Japan (NRT, HND) or China, you will only be charged the regular "2 zones award".

Define "late October". Here's just one of some options via China with availability on m&m.com in Business Class:

25OCT HKG-CTU CA428 1945 - 2215
26OCT CTU-SYD CA429 0150 - 1540

looking now at M&M award from Europe to North america.... availability seems pretty good and open in C for JAN / FEB 2020...
I have noted that taxes fees and airlined surcharges for LH metal have increased just a little now at 650€ for round trip and astronomic fee 640$ for one way north america to europe!!!!

did i miss something here? last time i booked one of similar flts fees were around 400€...now looks like at least a +25% in fees with operated LH flts on C awards ?

Your last booking must have been many years ago - or not on LX/LH/OS operated flights.

The surcharges you quote have been around for quite a while.
