I was just looking at LPJ website.
It states (under Booking - Ticket Concept)
"An additional benefit: You will receive a First Class Ticket for every flight, which, as usual, is included in the price."
What does that mean exactly?
Is it one ticket per charter? per roundtrip?

Read the German version -- I don't think its a First Class ticket to be used on a different route, but instead of an invoice, you receive something that looks like a regular First Class ticket for the Private Jet route you were flying. Only relevant for expense reporting purposes. But no free ticket.
However, I wasn't sure.
Thanks.

Yes but it could still not be profitable for Lufthansa depending on how much each of their stay at the FCL/FCT costs
If they drink 2 bottles of Bluelabel before every flight... That's $800k worth of Blue Label alone

Can we please stick to either or $ in this discussion? I find it very confusing to mix the two.

Anybody know how many cross-border legs you can do in one day? A lot of the folks in VFT seem only to be doing a round trip (2 legs). Could one shoehorn 8 legs into one day for the same cost?

hi thomas,
i can understand your fear (as well as SOGs and Rambusters) - i just looked up the survey in the german VFT forum. most of the people using this promotion seem to head for SEN rather than HON.
51 are interested in one roundtrip
16 are interested in two roundtrips
3 in three roundtrips
4 in four roundtrips
9 in five roundtrips
8 in six roundtrips
that's just showing the interest. i guess at least 50% of them will finally drop out anyway.
as you can see that this distribution might cause a lot of logistics trouble for this group 'cause not everyone wants the same amount of trips. moreover there is not one and only "organizer" but many out there. and there are availability constraints on the LHPJ aircraft.
so from my perspective the impact on the number of new/requalified HONs will be not that high (compared to the number of SENs).
cheers

Optimizing the LPJMR
To optimize the value of the whole exercise, one should wait till March 2011 to qualify for HON:
One would make SEN (or requalify) and get 2 eVoucher and the next flight might be the qualifying HON flight, giving another 6 eVoucher.
HON would be good till 2/2014 - providing more time with new F and all the new A380s.
8 eVoucher have a max value of 260.000 miles. One will also have earned 600.000 bonus miles. 860.000 miles would value 1 EUR-Cent each at least, making this 8.600 EUR.
The actual business case depends on one's location: I am based in SIN and would only use miles to get back to Europe:
600.000 miles = 5 trips in Business Class
8 eVouchers = 2 round-trip upgrades from Y to C
Total Cost: 11.400 EUR - translates into 1.900 EUR (excl. tax) per Business Class ticket and 950 EUR for the round-trip upgrade. Business Class tickets are more or less fully flexible and available for any given flight.

There is a huge incentive now for some people to leave the company plane in the hangar and use the LH option instead. It wouldn't surprise me if some in our top management with company plane authority will do this.
And also, how many people will make it to HON this way who are using this option once in a while anyway? Someone doing 1-2 return trips a month might engineer things now to get to HON.

If Im not mistaken, each passenger gets 50k award/status/HON miles for EACH segment, right?
So why not do something like FRA-CGN-DUS-FMO-BRE-HAM-TXL-LEJ-DRS-NUE-MUC-STR-FRA (should be possible in one day)
Even if LH charged 15000 for that roundtrip, that would be 2500 for 600k miles = HON status.
If this is indeed possible, anyone interested?
