Thanks for pointing that out, case_de! I shall resign myself to the UA GF lounge then.

Any suggestions on whether I should visit FCL A or FCL B, or both?

How do I know if my connecting EU-EU flight will be at a remote stand?

FCL A, B and FCT are very similar in terms of food, seating, service etc. The main difference is the location, how much walking to get there and how easy it is to get to the departure gate (if they don't drive you).
Personally I would just walk over to the FCT and relax there.

ZRH is different. The old F lounge is ok, the new one is spectacular. The easiest is to walk to the old lounge and ask them to take you immediately to the new lounge. Better experience in every aspect.

Thanks Unterwegs! How does the LX F ZRH Terminal E lounge compare to the LH F lounges?

The new UA Polaris lounge (former IFL) should be open at ORD in December. That may be worth visiting.

I really regret not taking advantage of the EUR99 Avis Porsche rental special while transiting through FRA last month.

Sadly I'm leaving a month too early!

I found the LX restaurant to be better than the LH FCL in both FRA and MUC, but I've never tried the FCT.

The view from the LX E lounge is really nice.

You have eight hours in Frankfurt? Get to the first F lounge you come across, have a shower and then some breakfast, and get into town. Why would you want to be in an airport lounge for that long? On your way back you get the taxi to drop you off at the FCT for your onward flight.

Because I've been to Frankfurt many times already and I'd prefer to get some rest in the lounges and catch up on sleep?

In that case, why hop to three different ones? Just go to FCT, shower and then sleep. I wouldn't really bother with exploring the lounges in the terminal.

I thought Flyertalk of all places would encourage lounge hopping.

Looks like my flight arrives in Pier B, so I will check out lounge there. If denied entry to FCT as PetzLux's latest post suggests may happen, then I'll just begrudgingly trudge back to the Pier A lounge for departure.

Thanks everyone for your advice!

Ended up skipping the FCLs in A&B and headed straight for the FCT. Now I know why it's so highly regarded.

LH F in-flight food was disappointing however. Probably worse than BA F in my opinion.

That will be an interesting Lounge anyway - the way I read it, it is open to all international premium customers? How will they - literally - fit there?

I had all of the appetizers (crab louie was decent), the Bouillabaisse, and the pumpkin cheesecake.

The food on the flight ex-Germany on the other hand was excellent.
