has anyone seen the 787 on any LAN flights yet? I imagine they are randomly inserting it into the rotation on several flights so it will be a popup rather than a scheduled thing. But, before it goes into a scheduled service, wondering where it is flying now and over the next month.

The 787 is doing some touch-and-goes at SCL today!

Later in the year it is scheduled on an SCL/EZE turn.

According to current schedules, it's gonna do a daily SCL/EZE/SCL from Nov 1st onwards (LA455/456). I'm aiming for late Nov for a first flight.

And SCL/LIM/SCL from Dec 1st onwards (LA 632/633).

Surprised they're keeping entirely within South America.

Crew training, probably extra mechanics on board, and probably not a lot of spare parts at many airports at this point. Once they are "up to speed" they'll be flying a lot farther.

They're sure moving slow. If they truly want to be the first operator to have scheduled flight of the 787 within the Americas, they better light a fire under it. United will not be dragging around and will put their first 787 into scheduled service within 2 weeks of delivery for their 787.

LAN is more concerned with reliable transport than phallic enlargement. They aren't making any money keeping the plane(s) on short hops without much cargo. I'm sure they will be sending the aircraft far far away when they are ready. I'd expect most of the SCL and LIM international crews will have some experience with the aircraft before they send it to LAX or other points.
