Agreed

Aureole is NOT worth the money. The food is lackluster and the service too snooty, in my opinion. Their wine PDA/computer thing is retarded.

I like Prime though, and have had good experiences both time I went. The waiter was a bit full of himself one time, but it didn't interfere with my enjoying the food. Maybe because I was on an expense account both times...

Are the best really in hotels on the Strip? I wonder why stand-alone restaurants are not considered the best.

I just came back from a long weekend in Vegas and would have to give Rosemary's the nod. Get off the strip one night. Great food great service, great prices! Went on Sun yes bottles are 1/2 price.

Question Best Restaurant for Dessert in Las Vegas?

Hello Everyone!

I'm taking my Mom the end of the month to Vegas for a couple of days. (She loves casinos and thought this would be quite enjoyable for her....though I must admit....I'm not a big fan of casinos, those annoying slot machine sounds, and the crowds in general.)

Well, I got us a suite at the Venezia at the Venetian and a couple of tickets to the "O" show at Bellagio, and, (after reading all your comments here in this forum), made reservations at Rosemary's for dinner, I was just wondering where would be a good place to go for dessert in the general Vegas Strip area.

(I'm planning to do dinner first at Rosemary's, then the 1030pm show at the bellagio then dessert afterwards...)

Thanks for the info!

As a rule I don't eat dessert but every hotel in town has a 24-hour coffee shop that serves dessert. The one at Bellagio is quite good.

The ESPN Zone at the NY NY has a dessert that I saw, but didn't quite try

4 Krispy Kreme donuts covered in Ice Cream, caramel and hot fudge

They give you a Lipitor as a chaser

If you go to a buffet, the one in the Paris and the Mandalay Bay probably have the best desserts.

The Bananas Foster at Commander's Palace is quite good. Although on a dedicated dessert meal as you suggest, I think the base MUST be chocolate.

If you are going after the 10:30 show your choices may be limited. I believe many of the high end restaurants would be closed by that time (midnight). You will have to choose from coffee shop type places only. Not sure how old your mom is but that sounds like a long evening already with dinner and a show.

I haven't tried it yet but I have reservations at N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms. We are going for dinner but the main reason I want to go is for the make your own smores dessert.

What I'd do is after the O show ends, go to the back of the Bellagio by the pool area and there is a gelato shop. Get some gelato and head out outside by the pool and sit on the benches they have there. It's pretty neat at night.

Or, if the fountains are still going, take your gelato out front and watch the fountains.

I agree with the poster that said the good restaurants will all be closed by midnight. If they're not closed, they probably won't want to open up a new ticket anyway.

Thumbs up

Thanks Everyone for all your suggestions!

Yes, it might be a tad late by then to do anything nice for dessert. For all I know, she'd prefer to hit the slots for an hour or two after the show.

We'll just play it by ear. I'll try the gelato thing if she wants to, if not, i'll let her hit the slots etc and I might just head over to the Luxor Spa to relax for a bit.

Just FYI, she's 58 yrs. So she still has the energy to stay up late....especially if she can find the Quarter or Nickel slots!

Thanks again!

Had a great dinner and service at Commanders Palace at the Alladin. Haven't been to the one in New Orleans, so I'm not sure how it compares.
