Easter Brunch & Tasting Menus Rec's
Will be in LAS for Easter, looking for a nice brunch. Have heard good things about ENVY at the Renaissance. Bally's Sterling seems to have declined over the years and is getting ridiculously expensive, so it's out. Any thoughts?
Also, I'm looking for a nice restaurant offering tasting menus. I've been to Alize, Picasso, etc. The Mansion (Joel Robuchon) is out of the question as it's absurdly expensive.
Any recommendations for a kaiseki/omasake meal in Vegas?
Thanks.

I think that a slightly better description of the Twist tasting menu is "contains elements of molecular and other innovative techniques" - I don't think that it is a purely molecularc menu as might be found at El Bulli (while it is still open) or Alinea in Chicago. Plus, the main non-food thing I liked about Twist was that the stuffiness level was in inverse proportion to the quality to the food.
Also. L'Atelier has a spring tasting menu at $85 and the abbreviated "L'Unique" tasting for only $39, served before 6:45pm (I assume it is aimed at people going to the nearby KA Cirque show).

l'atelier also has a big tasting menu, not sure what current price is, but kevineats shows $148.
edit - it is kind of odd, because while mgm doesnt list any menu prices, they do seem to list most prix fixe / tasting menus...

The L'Atelier Discovery tasting menu was $148 or so a month ago.
It was pretty much the same as what's listed on the web site as of today.
The Dgustation menu is their ala carte small plates menu. It's not a tasting menu.

Bouchon (bouchonbistro.com) has some of the best breakfast/brunch in town. It appears they don't have their brunch menu posted online, but you can't go wrong with Thomas Keller. It's in the Venetian if that effects your decision.

Go off strip to Raku (Spring Mountain Rd / Charleston vicinity) for top notch Japanese food -- the specialty is robata or Japanese grill. This is reportedly the haunt of Paul Bartolotta and Joel Robuchon when they have some time off.

Better than anything on the strip at very NON strip prices. The Chef makes his own soya sauce (two types) and when the house made tofu is on the menu I highly recommend it. It is worth the trek.
