FD -> FB Miles Posting - Beware!
Hi All!
I used the nifty online tool to ask that my May AF/KL flights be credited to my FB account. It worked like a charm - the flights posted the next day. Be very careful however, when they are posted - review them in order to see how they're crediting you. It seems like they take the worst possible option between FD and FB and credit in that way. This was my experience:
TLV-PAR in Tempo Challenge:
100% Base Miles (also level miles)
50% COS Bonus (also level miles) - is this correct BTW - did FD only give 50% bonus for Tempo Challenge?
75% Gold Elite Bonus - should have been 100% as we were still under FD at the time
Net loss: At least 25% (but possibly missing 50% level miles)
PAR-CFE in Abonnes:
100% Base Miles
100% COS Bonus (I think - it actually says "Full Fare Bonus for Discount Card Holder" - what's up with that?)
75% Gold Elite Bonus - again - should have been 100%
Net loss: 25%
TLV-AMS in WBC:
150% Base + COS Bonus - should have been 200% as members of FD
75% Gold Elite Bonus - should have been 100%
Net loss: 50% level miles and an additional 25% award miles
I called the FB helpdesk and they told me that Tempo Challenge under FD only got 50%, but in the same breath said that Gold Elites under FD only got 75%, so I am not sure what to make of that. It could be that since TLV is not Europe then they can't very well give 100% to Tempo Challenge, but only 50% for business class. They said that they would review the flights/classes in question and update my milage in one week.
The bright side is (I guess) that the call to the Helpdesk was a free call from Israel - previously I had to call the Netherlands direct.
The moral of the story is - I guess - when things get posted - keep an eye out.
Take care!

Beware indeed. My May flights have started to be credited, but using FB rules, and not giving the FD bonuses that were in operation then. So, getting only 100% PE bonus, not 125%.
But, of course, their 'generosity' doesn't extend to giving the FB 750 miles minimum on short flights - only 500. Heaven knows how many calls it'll take to get them to correct this very simple bug in the system.

Although slightly different, I have noticed that my mileage summary on the sign-in page is different to the mileage summary under flight history. As I have a return to India in J and two European returns in C to hit the summary from May, I am losing confidence in this FF programme. I cannot afford the time to keep auditing my flights and mileage credits.

At the same time most flights I do are short haul ones. I do a couple of transatlantic flights a year and that's about it. So the increase to 750 per segment is actually an increase per flight even with the decrease in percentage bonus.
How ever, the long haul ones will be a loss.

My flights CDG-NRT/KIX-CDG taken May 16/May 28 have not posted at all though I sent a request through fax. What to do next?

750 miles or real miles?
Thought the minimum miles for short flights went up from 500 to 750.
Well, playing around with the Miles Finder it looks like under FB rules real miles are credited when connecting.
Example:
Anyone out there (yet) who actually had miles credited under this scheme and can confirm that this is how it works now?
BTW, apparently KLM have found a route from BRU to AMS that is only 41 miles... The Great Circle Mapper comes up with 98 miles for BRU-AMS and 3940 miles for AMS-DTW.

Special Club Bonus For North And Central America
I am actually a happy camper. Took some NW flights in May that finally posted under the new regime. Each segment posted like this:
Date Transactions Credit Debit Level Miles Level flights
05/xx/2005 NW 1xxx XXX ZZZ Y 500
05/xx/2005 SPECIAL CLUB BONUS MILES 250
05/xx/2005 SPECIAL CLUB BONUS MILES 250
05/xx/2005 SPECIAL CLUB BONUS FOR NORTH AND CENTRAL AMERICA 250
I just changed from my European address to a US address earlier this month. Former KLM PE, and was upgraded on my domestic US flights when I took them in May.
Has anyone seen anything similar?
Don't want to make it easy for them to take it back if I did not deserve it so flight number and destination is obscured.

More dramatic example:
HEL-AMS-NRT: 5229 level miles
AMS-NRT: 6007 level miles
So a FB FF in HEL gets rewarded -778 miles for selecting KL to get to NRT via AMS? Generous by nature.
As the crow flies:
HEL-NRT: 4877 miles
AMS-NRT: 5805 miles
So there seems to be some relation to average actual flight path?
