Retrofitted A320's
Hello my fellow TrueBluers.....
I thought it was be a good idea to have a thread devoted to listing the tail numbers (if possible) of already retrofitted aircraft. Any crewmember or customer who flies on an A320 with 25 rows (the easiest and simplest way to know is just walk to the back and check what the last number shows!), please post the tail number of that aircraft in this thread! I'm just curious to have an idea of how fast things are moving. I remember someone mentioned about two aircraft per night can be retrofitted...
I look VERY forward to my two transcons during the first half of 2007!

Did JB announce that they are removing the last row? I know they said they are taking out 1 row, but that can mean any row. So they can take out the first row inthe back section and still leave the last row in tact which can be say Row #26 and still have only 25 rows on board.
Eg; CO 777s the last row in BF (Biz) is 10 the 1st row of coach is 16. Then the 1st cabin of coach ends at Row 28 and the 1st row of the back cabin in coach starts with 32. also the BF cabin is spilt in 2 the 1st ends with 5 and the 2nd starts with 8
So if JB does the same then checking to see what the last row # is doesnt mean anything. Do you know how they handled it the 1st time they removed a row, did they simply take out the last on board?

I believe that a couple of aircraft are already reconfigured, not positive. I will try and find out and post on here. The reconfigured aircraft will still carry 4 flight attendants until the entire fleet is reconfigured. So you will be seeing 150 customers being served by 4 flight attendants until about April or when we pass the FAA certification which ever comes last.

Is there anyway to find out if your booked on a reconfigured aircraft ahead of time? Like the day of, before you board the plane. I noticed that rows 25 DEF and the entire row 26 is blocked now for airport check in. I figured that I'll just book a seat in the front of the plane and when I find out the plane is not reconfigured, I'll just show up to the airport early and move into row 25 DEF.

I believe that row 25 , along with specific seats in the front, and sometimes specific exit row seats, have ALWAYS been blocked. My assumption was this allows for some flexibility for ticket counter and gate agent workers to deal with things such as lap children, special medical need passengers, etc.

my 2 cents
Just throwing my 2 cents in here. We're taking out the first row and moving rows 10 and forward up a little bit, to improve the seat pitch. We now have the highest seat pitch in the industry for a coach class a/c. That equals more leg room for you guys. The rows will be renumbered
1-25.
There will be 2 fa's seated upfront for takeoff and landing. During the service the number 2 FA will work out of the back, and larger, galley.
The first plane should roll out Jan 15th with the entire fleet being finished by March 1st. Until then there will still be 4 fa's on every flight.
We usually block off the last row for stand by's and the emergency exit rows are blocked too cause the agents need to screen the customers seated there.
Hopefully that answers your questions.
See ya onboard!

I used to fly exclusively Continental which has a shocking 31" seat pitch in coach.
In the old days I could expect FC upgrades, but those have become very rare. There were many CO flights after which I went directly from the airport to my chiropractor.
Now I fly jetBlue as exclusively as possible and my chiropractor must be wondering what happened to me...

Why not just remove row 1, then there is no need to renumber. Plus, an exit row seat is less likely to suddenly vanish in case of eqpt substitution.

remove the actual number "1" or remove the actual seats in row 1? Cause if you remove the actual row 1 seats, than there wont be tray tables for those sitting in the new front row. plus it'll just be weird if the first row is row 2.
