I agree that renumbering the 2 to begin at row 1 makes much sense. I never understood why some airlines (specifically 2-3 class cabins) start at weird numbers. For example, the Delta 757 is something like rows 1-8 first class, and then coach starts at row 17...something like that.
Any way, hats off to jetBlue for making the all seats amazing and no need to rush for that seat in an exit row!!! ^

YEPPIE! WAHOO! I was on a reconfigured 320 tonight and the first 11 rows have sooooooooo much leg room. It's like every seat is in the emergency exit row. It was a PBI-JFK flight.
You guys are gonna love it!

If you're in Rows 1-10, you get a nice surprise of extra legroom on the new config?
If you're in 11, you still have a similar amount of legroom?
If you're in 12, your seat is no longer exit row and you have 34" on the new config?
If you're in 13 to 25 you see no change? (except maybe 25 not fully reclining?)
If you're in 26, your row is gone and will need other seats on the new config?
In short, the worst is for peope in 12 that may have been expecting an exit row? For anyone in 12 now and really wants an exit row, they should probably try to change to 11 to ensure they have at least as much legroom as 12?
Thanks.

Situations like this are always a bit hairy during the transition, but to confirm...

I very strongly doubt that any row (even the last row) will not recline. This was the case when the A320 had 27 rows a few years ago...Neeleman stressed how important it is that every row reclines. Especially now, with even more room in the cabin, rest assured that every row will recline.
HOWEVER....
I did hear something (maybe here on FT a few months ago) that the WINDOW SEAT in EXIT ROWS will NOT recline at any point during the flight due to new FAA restrictions. Therefore, seats A and F won't recline in the exit rows. The others will recline once the FA unlocks it after takeoff above 10,000 feet.

How can JB afford to do this? I thought margins are paper thin to begin with...now with the loss of 6 seats, won't this move cost them mucho $$??
At any rate--WAY TO GO JB! Thank you, merci beaucoup and muchos gracias!!!

I don't have the figures infront of me but if I remember correctly, the average load factor for B6 was right around the 80% mark. With that in mind, it actually does make sense to remove the last row. The extra 6 seats do require the airline to have an extra FA onboard (1 for every 50 passagers- the extra row would put them over 150 seat mark). So the question then becomes: Do extra 6 seats bring in enough revenue to cover the extra weight and FA compensation? According to the 80% load factor, probably not.

Last week on my flight from LGB-ORD.
On the outbound, 11 (I had 11) and 12 were both exit rows...the TVs were the small black ones....and I couldn't figure out how to use the XM...did it even have one?
On the return, 11 (I had 11) and 12 were both exit rows, but the TVs were bigger with white frame (newer?) but I still couldn't figure out how to use the XM....
Do they have XM on A320's?

The return flight was a hit or miss. You had the newer TV screens, but not all planes with the newer screens have the XM installed yet. Every E190 has the XM, but the A320 fleet is still being updated. Maybe one of our friends at jetBlue on here has an answer as to how many A320's have the XM and when that fleet will be complete with it. I think by the end of 07 but maybe jetBlueFA can comfirm that.
It's easy to use...there are two icons on the armrest. One says XM Radio; the other says DirecTV. If you can't figure out how to use it, just ask the inflight crewmember and they'll be happy to help you out.
To give you an idea, I fly about 35 segments with B6 per year (all A320) and only one flight had XM so far. That's just my luck. I'm sure I'll start seeing it more often this year, as it is added throughout the entire fleet.
