Shall we start guessing on the next routes?

It all depends on whether No. 4 and No. 5 are delivered together.

And when Airbus gets around to completing them. 662 and 670 which are the line numbers for number 4 and 5 have not even been spotted in primer yet. 662 has been assigned a French registration F-WZND, so it is probably not that far from being finished enough to be spotted in primer 670 does not have a registration yet.

Number 3, line number 635 registration F-WDWW still does not seem to have engines mounted.

They can take as much time as they need for No. 3 onwards. There's no pressure to launch the new flagship products anymore so JAL doesn't have to accept the delivery despite knowing there are cabin issues. The current SS and JAL Suite are just fine for my need. I wouldn't be too upset even if I am not able to fly the new products any time soon.

Here’s a tour of the cabin. Bulkhead of PY has plenty of legroom. Doesn’t look like it’s easy to take out the F dining table and once it’s out can you easily leave your seat? They only show footwell of 3K, which is misleading as that’s not the standard footwell of other seats.

I guess the bulkhead J seats have larger footwells then? Also, a little jarring that the F seats look the cushions are misaligned all over the place.

Not all bulkhead seats have the same footwell.

Perhaps JAL should have purchased the voice activated robotic crane option for first class dining table manipulation?

Just joking :-) When I take my flight in October, will just let the professionals (i.e., crew) set up the dinner. As for the exit for the bathroom...hmmmm remains to be seen? Crawl under the table?

Cheers,

-Cyborg

p.s., I have experience (row 84?) climbing over the storage bins and squeeking by between the console and the wall on United upper deck 747 back in the day ;-)

Believe they could have designed it much better. At least based on the renderings, QF seems to have a better customization/design in both F and J. Maybe JAL’s F table is more sturdy?

Can't say I dig the color scheme or general aesthetic. NH seems to still have a leg up there, but do look forward to trying this out this fall.

Yup, I don’t like that either but there seems to be a few usability problems with the design as well. IMHO they put too much focus on having a big screen and big bed.

The renderings for QF certainly look better, there could be a worry that the very light colour scheme in F will be difficult to keep looking clean....

Yes I like NH's dark colors for multiple reasons. The current JL F has too much white/cream for my taste - makes the cabin too bright and does get scratched/marked up easily.

The PE looks like a dream for me.
I look forward to this between Europe and Tokyo, whenever on earth that'll be.

I cheaped out and did not book the one way JL5 (thought it was pretty cheap YYZ->JFK->HND was $3500 CAD). GoingYYZ->YVR then flying 3rd ZIPAIR YVR flight from YVR-NRT instead, for about less than 1/2 of the price, and way less than 50% of the service compare to JAL. Will definitely try this next time around, and hope more routes will get this new cabin.
