I stayed at the ICH Century City back in September.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay, and with the BOGO voucher it was good value. We booked a Standard King Room and were upgraded to a junior suite.

No fruit, but we received a gift box of various nut and bottled water.

Staff were excellent and very friendly with an escort to our room etc.

This was my first visit to LA, so I can't comment on alternatives but we thought it was a good location. It was easy to find, and had the Westfield shopping centre next door for meals etc.

Review--Intercontinental LA Century City

Review-Intercontinental LA Century City

I just finished a 2-night stay at the IC Century City in Los Angeles. Here is a full review of the property from Check-In all the way to Checkout.

Arrival:
We were greeted when our sedan arrived at the entrance to the hotel. The valet parking staff asked us if we needed help with our luggage or an escort to the front desk. There were ample fountains and there is a small sitting area outside the door to sit and relax while waiting for your car or the person you are meeting.

Lobby:
The ceilings were about two floors high. The concierge was to the left when you enter the hotel and the reception desk was to the right near the bell desk. There was no gift shop or newsstand as it was under renovation. There is a small chocolate shop near the ballrooms. There were plenty of couches and chairs in the reception area separate from the bar/lounge.

Check-In
I was welcomed as an RA and informed of all of the benefits and asked what newspaper I would like in the morning. I was also asked if I needed a bellmen to assist me with my luggage or if I needed an escort to my room. The young lady was very professional and referred to me by name during the process.

Room (Executive Suite)-Upgraded from Deluxe Suite
When I walked in there was a couch and two chairs and behind the couch area was a small dining table. There was a large LCD TV in the front of the parlor. The mini bar was located in the entertainment center. The bedroom was to the left of the parlor with a king size bed and another LCD TV. There was 1 full bathroom with a separate tub and shower. The best part was the large balcony overlooking the Hollywood Hills and downtown LA. There was more the enough extras in the bathroom including a refreshing spray, dental kit, shave kit, two shower caps, lib balm and the usual shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The mini bar contained 2 Heineken beers, 2 small bottles of sparking water and spring water and another large bottle of spring water. Then there was a red wine, a white whine and the usual single shots of various liquors. Then there were two orange juice bottles, one iced tea and Vitamin Water.

Housekeeping
The housekeeping staff was great in cleaning the room and making it look like I had just checked in. My clothes were folded and anything that was on the floor was put on a table. The mini bar was replenished upon request. Turndown service was excellent as well; I was given two Fiji waters at turndown as well as after the morning housekeeping service.

Restaurant/Bar/Lounge
The restaurant had a separate sushi chef, which was very good. The portions in the restaurant were on the small side but the food was very good and the service was at the level of a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. I did not have to wait long for my salad to arrive or my main dish. The bar is open until 1 AM and is an intimate place to have a drink, as it is not that crowded. The sushi bar stays open until the bar closes. Free coffee is offered in the morning at the bar.

Fitness Center/Spa/Pool/Locker Room
The fitness center is not that big but has everything you need. All of the cardio equipment have a built in TV and bottled water is provided in the fitness room. The pool was outside and had lounge chairs as well as some tables. During the warm months there is food/drink service at the pool. The locker room (men’s) had water, juice and fruit as well as cold wash clothes. There was a steam room as well as a sauna and the showers all had shampoo, soap and body wash. This is all free to any hotel guest regardless of status. The fitness center is open 24 hours.

Checkout
I was asked how my stay was and thanked again for being an RA. There were no mini bar charges on the bill. I was asked again if I needed help with my luggage or a taxi to the Airport.

Overall
Service wise this was one of the best ICs I have stayed at. Everyone from the Concierge to the housekeeping staff was professional and polite and asked if I needed anything else. I was very impressed with the door staff and the outdoor bell staff. The rooms are modern and clean and all feature latest technology. You cannot beat the location either; it is waling distance to a major mall and only 20 min from LAX with no traffic. It is also the same to Downtown LA, 5 min from Beverly Hills and 10 min from the Valley. I am planning on staying here during all of the visits to the LA area.

This is a thread about the whole hotel not just the RA benefits so I thought other FTers who are not RAs or Ambassador members would want to read it.

Then you should have added yours to the existing thread on the property itself. While a worthy effort, having too many separate threads on the same property only makes it more difficult for people to search out the information they need.

I would like if you could not make negative comments about where I post something and IF you wanted to make a negative comment make it about something I did in my review or how I wrote it.

There are bigger things on FT to complain about than this.

I am just trying to give an updated review so everyone can look at it.

Come on, if you have nothing constructive to say dont say it.

Benny8444, actually Shareholder is correct in his advice. There is already an existing thread regarding this property and creating new threads only creates problems when searching for a property review. I personally have experiienced that difficulty. You actually started a thread on February 10th enquiring about this property.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/inter...tury-city.html

You could have provided your updated review in your own thread or updated the earlier thread on this property. I don't consider Shareholder's comments as being negative.

I have something constructive to say, suggest you ask a moderator to move this thread to one of the existing threads on this hotel.

And one other thing. Is it really the concierge on the left and the reception / bell desk on the right of the lobby? It was the opposite when I stayed there last year, and the one before ....

Yep. Either should be on the "master" thread or on the RA sticky. No need for new thread every time the OP visits IC hotel where he hasn't been before.

This is a good deal but I wonder if our RA benefits will still apply?

I am going to LA in 2 weeks and the rate I got was less, probably because it is a weekend. I hope they give me the same suite or similar one that I had last time.
