What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Spire

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Nope

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard Room at Corp Rate
Standard Room

How are the rooms?
Standard Room, Queen bed, desk and sofa. Very small bathroom

How is the exec. lounge?
NA

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Its a bed

Bad:
Customer Service was non existent. Internet wasn't working when I arrived, but no mention of it during check in, I had to call to see if it was the internet or it was my problem. No idea when the internet was fixed, although it was working the following morning

No mention of IHG status or Welcome gift etc. I asked on checkout and was told they don't give Welcome gifts as its a Corp thing not a hotel thing. I started to dispute it but decided I was wasting my time. I'll send an email to IHG

Room just wouldn't warm up all night despite having the AC on 27*C (max)

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
If I had another choice in Canberra I would take it over staying here again.

Its a bit pricey but better than IC Amstel since its about 50% less. But I guess kinda standard for a CP.

You have to remember in Amsterdam all hotel rooms are on the small side. Kind of historical as government taxed owners based on width if the houses so all houses are narrow , unusable stairs for furniture hence hook and pulley to lift goods up front of buildings and in through windows
The CP IS multiple buildings joined together , interesting house in middle if you look out window on 5th floor on exiting lifts !

CP Ams Center has I think 2x Exec/club floors. If you got the end of corridor corner room where you exit lift and go right and walk in a big loop and end up in end corner room with window ahead of bed and to right of bed that is the biggest room on the floor. Should have karate bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle ... Plus entrance to room is from room door a corridor 3m in length opening into bedroom

I thought for Amsterdam/Benelux hotels the b/f offering was very good , not that it matches UK hotel full English fried b/f offerings

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Platinum.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Very.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked King Deluxe, upgraded to Two Queen Suite.

How are the rooms?
Nice and chic. Suites are nearly double the size of typical HI rooms (~4m wide x 15m deep). Entry is living room with newer sofa, work desk, large plasma, fridge, microwave. Bedroom far off main hall with door lock and another flat screen.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
-Nice upgrade
-Higher-end HIX, attractive exterior, clean, modern interior
-Modern, spacious suite
-Awesome bed
-Good shower pressure, wonderful ergonomic shower head
-Quiet, good soundproofing, slept great
-2 minutes off HWY 401; 30-60 minute drive to downtown Toronto depending on traffic

Bad:
-No HD channels
-Spa out of order
-Toilet a bit cramped

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Rates are very reasonable, roughly half the cost of less polished HI properties in downtown Toronto.

HI Golden Mile Hong Kong
What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Spire Royal Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, very much

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked deluxe, was upgraded to Premier and then bought upgrade to Club Executive at checkin

How are the rooms?
Recently renovated and nicely done. Great room technology, lighting, aircon, TV all very user-friendly and worked perfectly.
Bathroom optionally open to room, makes room look bigger but not to everyone's liking! Can lower blind to block.
Very comfortable (firm) bed
Nice corner sofa with large ottoman
View: directly into apartments across the road

How is the exec. lounge?
Recently renovated. In basement so no views. Good breakfast spread, all self-serve. Evening limited snack selection. Self-serve drinks, although occasionally staff would offer to refill.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- Recognition as Spire Royal Ambassador (greeted as such)
- Renovated room and Club
- Exec package incl Club, HK$500 hotel credit, 50% laundry discount for HK$360+

Bad:
- Don't expect to get a view!
- Sorry to see that the German restaurant in B1 is closed down

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Definitely on business (close to office), not for leisure

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
In no way - stay away from this place. The rooms and overall hotel are absolutely the worst I have experienced at any IHG hotel. The hotel charged more to my card then the rate on the reservation, after switching rooms and still having breathing issues and being unable to stand the smell we left after half an hour there. requested a refund on my non-refundable rate that the manager said will clear in 3-6 business days - we shall see. This place was so bad I have filed complaints with IHG corporate, the Health Board and the State Attourney General's Office. It's not just bad service, it needs to be shut down as a health risk.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked an accesible King (no non accessible king rooms were available), received same with decent water view. Was moved to a ground floor room overlooking some dumpsters with two doubles when first room was refused.

How are the rooms?
Awful would be a compliment. The whole place smelled. The lobby, halls and rooms all smell like mold, mildew and were just generally damp. The elevators smelled like electrical issues and burnt rubber. some quick review searches show others reporting the same and finding evidence the whole place has a black mold issue from previous water damage.

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
- absolutely nothing

Bad:
- hotel reeks of mold and mildew
- elevators barely working
- air conditioning units barely work

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
For $260 a night after tax during peak season absolutely not, the motels are probably nicer and half the price. The non peak rate is under $100 and I still wouldn't stay here. In fact I wouldn't stay here if they were paying me instead of the reverse.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked: 2 DOUBLE BEDS STANDARD NONSMOKING
Upgrade: None
Comments: I believe that this is the only room type with 2 beds.

Welcome gifts?
I was given 2 drink coupons. I think I chose these over points.

How are the rooms?
Not bad. There's nothing remarkable except maybe that the bathroom was an okay size. Overall, it's an aged hotel and it shows.

How is the exec. lounge?
There is no lounge that I am aware of.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Staff were professional.

Bad:
I would have liked a room with a view of Swan Lake

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Yes, as there are few options in Perth. The HI in Perth is a better location for CBC activities.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked: ONE QUEEN STANDARD NONSMOKING
Upgrade: None
Comments: This is my 4th time staying here. Each time I am given the same room on the top floor in the corner facing out.

Welcome gifts?
None at all

How are the rooms?
Good enough. The mattress is better than most HIX, but not as nice as I'd like. The refrigerator is cold.

The clothes hangers are too big for the closet which makes it difficult to close and get the closet light to extinguish.

The AC is good enough and quiet compared to many hotels of this level.

Towels are not white due to local water.

Water leaks out of shower area into bathroom.

Roosters and children playing can be heard in the room.

How is the exec. lounge?
There is no lounge.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Price, location and staff.

Bad:
If this hotel were in a more advanced community, I would say the noise, water color, smells, and difficulty to get closet door closed are bad things. However, for the price and area, I think it's okay.

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Yes, great value if under $45 USD.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked: SUPERIOR KING ROOM NONSMOKING
Upgrade: DELUXE KING ROOM NONSMOKING
Comments: The room was on a mid-high floor with view of gold course and pool

Welcome gifts?
Drink coupons and an amazing fruit bowl in room

How are the rooms?
Very nice! Modern and a good size. I liked that there is a patio. The bed was amazing.

How is the exec. lounge?
I don't know if there is a lounge. I was not offered lounge access.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Price, location, room and staff.

Bad:
I was not able to use my drink coupons for cocktails during the day as I learned that alcohol was not being served when the sun was up. This was during Ramadan. The breakfast buffet (which i purchased) was open after sun up. There was no pork.

Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Reward booking - standard twin
Given room on 2nd floor of 4 facing away from motorway - quiet

How are the rooms?
Room was quite small, poor lighting - only bedside and table lamps
Very few mains power points
Bed and shower was fine

How is the exec. lounge?
None

What was good and what was bad?
Good
Breakfast was reasonable for cheap HIX, obviously not amazing quality but edible and filling. Officially starts at 0630 on weekdays but I had to depart by 0640, so went down at 0620 and the dining area was already full of people eating

Bad
Nobody at reception when I arrived at 2100 - wandered around for 5 mins until I found someone
Chose points, not drink, but points not credited after 10 days

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Cheapest (10000 points) near to Birmingham, obviously meant for motorway drivers but it is 15 mins walk + 15 mins by train, so would return if needing to go there

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Spire

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard, given Executive. This was my first Spire stay. There was no mention of Spire at check in. They handed over the usual 500 point voucher. My last several Platinum stays I got a suite, but this time only an Exec room even with the hotel so empty that I got €67 rate booking just a day in advance.

Welcome gifts?
2 water bottles and an orange.

How are the rooms?
I like the rooms and suites here. They are all a bit different but have all been recently renovated. Also the lobby has been very recently renovated and looks sharp and bright. A lot better than it used to be, but functionally still the same.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
Super cheap for Paris and I have come to like the location very much.

Bad:
Nothing other than I have come to expect a suite upgrade here.

Value for € or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
This was probably my 30th stay here so I think yes.

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Reserved basic 2 queen room (cheapest available)
Upgraded to "Tower" room King, 6th floor. 6&7 are concierge level, with the lounge on 7.

- How are the rooms?
Fine. I didn't see a regular room to compare, but I guess the size is similar. This upgraded room had robes, plus a granola bar and microwave popcorn waiting for me.

- How is the exec. lounge?
Seemed pretty weak to me. Actually my first IHG lounge experience, but I've been in several Marriott & SPG lounges. Open 24 hours, with complimentary potato chips & Doritos, coke, sprite, and water (but out of water at my first night visit ~10pm). Staffed for breakfast, had some hot prefab Jimmy Dean microwave ham/egg sandwiches, plus a few pastries, cereal, and yogurts. Happy hour offered bottled domestic beer for $5 and wine (didn't notice price), plus some sad looking sandwiches and a pasta salad.

- What was good and what was bad?
Overall solid, nothing blew me away, but also really nothing to complain about.
Houlihan's restaurant attached, open till 11:30 or midnight in an area where lots of stuff closes early.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Yes. It's often priced about the same to the nearby Holiday Inn Dulles and just a little more than the Holiday Inn Express Herndon; of the three, CP Dulles would be my pick (but I wouldn't pay a big premium for it).
