Of course this is depends on availability and their goodwill.
You should not have high expectation.

How much would it cost to upgrade from a standard room to a full harbour view room?

Quite close to the actual price difference on the published rates. You can figure out yourself by checking the room rates on the hotel site.

They dont let their rooms to cheap that is for sure. See post 291 and 292.

Thanks Happy!

Can you let me know if I'm figuring this correctly? As per the Priority Club site it states that if I book with points it is 50k pts per night for a Deluxe Room (although the cheapest room for $ is a regular Premier Room w/ no view the site tells me I get a Deluxe Room when booking with points). The price of the Deluxe Room is HKD$2757 and the price of a Premier Room with a Full Harbor View is HKD$3291, so they would only ask for ~HKD$534 per night to upgrade to that room if available? Up-thread I was seeing that ppl were quoted to upgrade for HKD$1100 or 1200, so was that because they wanted suites?

Only way to find out is to email the hotel and ask them.

I am here and the hotel, food, and service are marvelous as always. Such a pleasure to be back!

One question--what is going to be built next door? There's a huge construction area where the New World Center used to be.

From IC HK to Airport Express in Kowloon by Taxi

I have a 10:30am flight. When should I check out and catch the taxi from the Hotel to Kowloon? Will the hotel arrange taxi service? I have two pieces of checked luggage. Thanks!

I would depart at 8 am. This should bring you to the airport between 8.30 and 9 am, still plenty of time. No need to prearrange a taxi service, plenty of red cabs waiting for customers.

I am leaving the hotel at 9am for an 11:35am flight, so I agree with this advice.

I would suggest you get a taxi to Kowloon Airport Express the taxi driver will then offer you a deal all the way to the airport. I wouldn't pay for a regular price taxi to the airport if travelling alone, the Airport Express is often quicker and simpler, but most taxi drivers are pragmatic about this and will offer a deal.

Check In at Kowloon Station is usually never crowded (most of the time you have max 1 person in front of you). The train is very comfortable - Time from Hotel to Gate (or lounge) will be approx. the same from the Hotel (this is esp. true when you have an airline checking in at Term 2, you can just enter at Term 1.
Most Taxi drivers will offer you a deal for going to the airport, especial in the morning and midday. I think (not sure if my memory is correct) it was 250 HK$, sometimes even lower.

And it is 310 HKD it they use the meter....

Nothing against the train, I use it when I go to the Island. However, for Kowloon or better TST? It is not worth the effort and the waiting time and the extra 40 HKD for a taxi from the station to TST.

Just an FYI, I e-mailed the hotel and was quoted 700HKD to upgrade to a Harbor View Room from a room booked with points. Is it worth it?
