For anyone following the free transfers offer it looks like they have updated this for April. 5 days an offer is 50% off return transfers for 2 adults with 8 nights or more netting free transfers for 2. Same exclusions apply for reward nights etc.

Does anyone know if this is the latest offer? I have a rewards night booking for this August but with the Book Now Pay Later rate reasonably low, if it includes the transfers for 2, it makes the use of points rather expensive. I have emailed the hotel to ask but they normally take a few days to reply. With the increase to 120k a night, I don't want to cancel my reward nights until I know for certain the BNPL rate does include the free transfers.

Hotel have replied and confirmed the inclusive transfers.

I've just cancelled 8 reward nights for 28th Aug to 5th Sept that are now showing as bookable if anybody wants to grab them before they go.

So they removed the restriction for this property that reward nights can only be booked x months in the future?

About 15h or 16h. They only fly during daylight.

Note that the hotel island does not use Maldives time zone.

The transfer flights increased to $900. *Correction : $750
What's the difference between Sunset vs Sunrise villas? Any thoughts on which is better?

What, a jump from $580 to $900?? I can clearly see the sort of people who are going to be going to these resorts from now on (and they're not pretty).

It's still an awful lot. I wonder what Lonely Planet says about getting around the Maldives under your own steam. Undoubtedly, with resorts like these you are captive.

Unfortunately I have had to cancel my trip, but I did get the confirmation that I could get a 1 category upgrade before arrival from a points booking as Spire Ambassador, they let me choose between the One Bedroom Lagoon Pool Villa and the Sunset Overwater Pool Villa.

It's annoying isn't it. I've had to reschedule my holiday 3 times. Was supposed to be there right now in fact.

They seem pretty good at the pre arrival comms. Good to know about upgrade on points.

I hope they keep their free transfers on an 8 day paid stay offer going. That's a good deal...for Maldives prices!

I am quite happy with the pre-arrival emails with the IC also.

Really annoyed at this one, I managed to put together the perfect trip:
  • Direct BA flights on the days that I wanted
  • 9 nights on points with the Intercontinental at the old rate (100k/night)
  • 2 of these nights using free night vouchers from the UK credit card
  • Changed 4 nights to cash as the deal was amazing: full board and free seaplane transfers for ~$4000 all in, making this a better deal than points
  • 8 nights on points at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives, including free transfers

I don't think that I will be able to get as good a deal if/when I rebook.
