Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

I booked an IHG chase award night. I was upgraded to a corner king room.

How are the rooms?
The room was nice with 2 walls that was basically floor to ceiling windows. The view was fantastic!

How is the exec. lounge?
I paid $50 to access the lounge. It was nice but small. The food/appetizers, breakfast, and drinks were very nice and spot on.

What was good and what was bad?

The good:
Location was great! Close to Union Square.
The view was incredible.
It was my birthday so they gave me a free birthday tiramisu dessert.
I can't remember what the gift was.
Nice bottles of evian water and fruit.

Not really bad but:
I had to pay for parking
No free lounge access

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Heck yeah it's worth it for the points + certificate. It was going for 329/night when i went, so definitely worth

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Heritage Club King. Received Executive Suite.

How are the rooms?
Similar to the Heritage Suites. Lots of awkward angles.

How is the exec. lounge?
Legendary. Attentive service from the staff who could remember my choices throughout my stay. Come early - no seats available after 6pm on a Sat night.

What was good and what was bad?
The new fitness club is most welcome with new equipment and more workout space. The new Ash & Elm was packed on Sunday - at least a 30 mins wait for breakfast.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Always.

We actually booked via Virtuoso for this weekend - we went to see Vivid. We had to book an eastern harbour view room to receive the Virtuoso amenity, which was mainly the access to the club. The actual room we got upgraded to was a Harbour Bridge view room on the 15th floor

How are the rooms?
Happy with the room, good size. Can lie in bed and look at the harbour bridge! It is time they did something about upgrading the bathrooms as in this day and age I don't think anyone should be climbing over a bath to have a shower. Everything was very clean and tidy though so no complaints.

How is the exec. lounge?
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Best view in the world. Staff are friendly. Evening drinks and canapés are great, they refill your glasses constantly. Have gone back to a tasting plate again with a couple of hot options, but they have a small buffet selection as well which included oysters one night, mussels the next and cheeses, salad, dips etc. as we were dining out we didn't really indulge much.

Breakfast options are good, but as usual things could be hotter, those hot plate things don't really seem to keep much warm in my opinion.

After 9pm (I think from Wed to Sat??) they open the club lounge up to the hotel guests to come and have a drink. You definitely need to book.

What was good and what was bad?
Good -
club lounge is always fantastic
No problems with lifts on our visit
Received ambassador gift (red wine and fruit) and papers always delivered.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
$501 AUD via virtuoso but it worked out better than booking direct with IHG as we were guaranteed club. If we want guaranteed club when we book directly we always pay for it (and get upgrade to a suite) so this was good for us as we were happy with our room.
do you collect all your points/qualified stay when booking via Virtuoso? how do the price points compare with booking direct with IHG, are they similar to Amex FHR?

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

King Club, upgraded to Junior Suite prior to arrival

Received fruit, daily water refresh, note, large jar of dulce de leche, coupon for two pressed garments and a coupon for bottle of wine with purchase of an entree in the restaurant (limited time only).

Used a slightly after 4 pm checkout without charge.

How are the rooms?

Great! Looks just like the photos on the site with hard wood floors and a rug. WC and shower/tub are in two separate areas with the closet in between them. Excellent housekeeping. Water pressure could strip the paint off a wall which was awesome.

How is the exec. lounge?

Outstanding considering the use of space and size of the lounge. Only had breakfast once but could have taken it downstairs. Large range of cold options and baked eggs. Canapes were superb including meats and cheeses, smoked salmon, a stew, etc.

One extremely minor complaint, is they put out tons of tiny ramekins (an example would be quinoa with a baby tomato on top). It's good for one bite... and very delicious, but I'd rather see a serving bowl where guests can choose a portion.

Staff is exceptional, personable and will personally troubleshoot any issue.

What was good and what was bad?

Good -- aforementioned junior suite and lounge, Lobby is immaculate and looks world class, concierge staff is top notch, dinner shuttle will take you anywhere local between 7pm-9pm and then pick up you up later

Bad -- food service in the bar is exceptionally slow, even when empty (35 minutes for a cold appetizer), lack of an SAP button on the remote so all the dubbed channels are in Spanish only and can't be changed, Always multiple door people but often times just having conversations with each other instead of opening doors/greeting guests. Price for airport pickup of 995 pesos when a radio taxi will book a flat rate of 450 and Uber quotes 300.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Yes, with the caveat that this isn't the greatest location in the city. I stayed here because I shot off to different areas (Ricoletta, Palermo, Puerto, Florida Street). There are certainly nicer areas while this one is "gritty." If I didn't have any loyalty to IHG, I would probably stay elsewhere in the city.

Quick tip -- Uber may be "illegal" and there are not a ton of cars in use, but every trip ended up perfect and the drivers are highly enthusiastic. Highly recommended.

Score = 9/10

What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Spire Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Generally, OKish.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Points stay, so booked a standard room, received a 1 level upgrade to a Deluxe room (I guess).

How are the rooms?
Tiny, but it has everything required for an overnight stay.

How is the Club Lounge?
Paid £78 per room. Breakfast was OK - you can order a la carte, which is great, however the service was too slow. Afternoon tea was great with some nice finger sandwiches and mini-cakes. Evening spread is a bit of a let down - the selection of food is very limited, no self-service, which is a downside.

Drink-wise, great London dry gin available + Moet really made our night.

What was your welcome gift?
Some biscuits, fruit, a bottle of water and a chocolate cake.

What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
Club lounge was pretty good, not great though.
Comfortable bed

BAD
Evening spread in the lounge could be better

Value for $ or Rewards Club Points?
With the standard room costs £469 a night 60K points is deffo a decent value. Would never pay the asking price for a stay at ICPL though.

Would you return?
Not really, I do prefer O2.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? We booked the entry level standard room which was upgraded to a superior room the following day. The day before check in we were upgraded a second time to a view room on the 18th floor.

How are the rooms? Fine

How is the exec. lounge? Rate didn't include access

What was good and what was bad? Fruit and water already in the room, but strawberries came with visible mould and my welcome letter was addressed to Mr...... Welcome gift was a jar of chocolate spread plus we were given a pack of IC branded chocolate biscuits at check in.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? At our nightly rate of £75 including breakfast, we would return in a shot.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
King Club, got King Club with Acropolis view

How are the rooms?
Decent size, slightly old fashioned. Blue decor with dark brown wood.

How is the exec. lounge?
I thought it was nice with outside balcony and Acropolis view. There are free to use binoculars attached to railing which you can use to view Acropolis closer.

Morning spread was quite small but had all the necessary things and it changed from day to day, same with tea time. Evening spread was good and enough for a meal if you're so inclined.

What was good and what was bad?
Good.
Staff very helpful and quick to fix things (they had forgotten extra bed to our room and it was fixed in 5 minutes).
Pool was nice after long day of walking although maybe bit too warm
Overall a nice stay

Bad.
Well, upgrade is bit weak although it is one category as per rules. I am not certain if I am happy with that rule where view or desirable room or whatever makes it one category but that is more of an IHG issue I suppose.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?[/QUOTE]
200€ Club room rate is ok value esp. for three persons.

There were 1 litre waterbottle, fruit basket and 3 bars of soap as Ambassador gift

Gold Ambassador

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, after a bad start.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a Club Deluxe room, received a senior suite.

How are the rooms?
The rooms are nice, but in fact it were 2 separate rooms. When we arrived they were still separated and the door was closed. After a call they solved it. I could only enter one room with my keycard. In fact, it was a little awkward because of the light controls etc. But, we also had two minibars.

How is the Club Lounge?
Nice lounge, but the staff wasn't very attentive. We were there a few times without getting noticed. After 6 pm beverages and sekt. Limited hot food in the evening.

Didn't see the breakfast in the lounge because we used the restaurant breakfast.

What was your welcome gift?
Fresh fruit, some peanuts and a small chocolate box. No letter.

What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
Very good feedback follow up by the manager. After complained by ifeedback they send an email and made an appointment for a coffee. After our meeting they surprised us.

The breakfast was great.

Although the "senior suite" was a little bit strange, the upgrade was generous because suites are excluded by the ambassador T&C.

BAD
No email upon arrival.
Our room was changed in the reservation (downgraded) and they added another reservation (vague).
No dedicated amb/club check in, room wasn't ready.

Value for $ or Rewards Club Points?
Yes, with the club lounge and included breakfast it was good.

Would you return?
Absolutely.

Booked Club Superior Room. Recieved Club Senior Suite

How are the rooms?
Yuuuuge, 100sqm

How is the exec. lounge?
Fantastic! Attentive service from staff. Hot food options after 6PM and free flowing champagne, rose, white, red, vodka, gin, beer and soft drinks till 10PM

What was good and what was bad?
Great spa, gym, pool, excellent breakfast (see a la carte menu from club lounge)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
One of the best IC in the world.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard "Intercontinental Deluxe" room on points, received Club Room.

How are the rooms?
Very comfortable.

How is the exec. lounge?
Didn't visit. Front desk didn't say anything about lounge access on check in and being given a triple upgrade, I didn't ask if I had it.

What was your welcome gift?
Fruit, two bottles of water and a model of the Lisbon tram.

What was good and what was bad?
Good: Rooms were wonderfully furnished, view was fantastic, bed extremely comfortable, staff and concierge were friendly and efficient, location is a little way out of the main tourist areas but has close access to public transport.
Bad: Nothing comes to mind.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Cash rates are usually better value than points, but used points for own reasons. Would definitely return though.

yes it was counted as a qualifying stay and we got points and bonus points. This was our first time using Virtuoso so very happy. I think yes virtuoso is similar to AmEx FHR from what I've read.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Booked a Club King City View Room with my BOGO certificate. Received a triple upgrade to a State Suite.

How are the rooms?

Amazing. Absolutely massive and very comfortable furnishings. Far too much space for a solo traveller!!!

How is the exec. lounge?

Very nice. Comfortable and very attentive staff.

What was good and what was bad?

Nothing bad. I booked the hotel limousine transfer so the staff (about 5 of them) were waiting for me on arrival. Escorted to my room by two of them to complete in-room check-in. Everywhere I walked it seems that the staff know me by name.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Definitely value for money. The Club Room originally booked was USD600 for two nights, less one night with my BOGO cert.

Great stay

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Points stay, booked a standard room, received a Deluxe Canary Wharf View room.

How are the rooms?
Pretty spacious for a non-suite room

How is the Club Lounge?
Paid £75 per room. Breakfast was good - you can either go to the main restaurant or order a la carte in the lounge. Afternoon tea was nice with some nice finger sandwiches and mini-cakes (incl. macarons). Evening spread was 'nothing special' with a few hot options (samosas, deep fried prawns, pork pies), but enjoyed Sipsmith gin!

What was your welcome gift?
Fruit and water

What was good and what was bad?
GOOD
Great pool and gym areas.
Love that they provide an option to have a breakfast in the lounge or restaurant

BAD
Location is not that great, a regular shuttle bus (to/from the North Greenwich Tube station) would be perfect.

Value for $ or Rewards Club Points?
Great value for 45K points a night.

Would you return?

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Asked what I should book to get sea view club room and they said Club City View room. Booked that but also let them know that I considered 10 euro difference and view to be pretty weak for one category upgrade but would let hotel decide what they think of it themselves.

Got reply that they would do their best to accommodate me. Soon after reservation showed Sea View Business Suite (about two weeks before stay) and received that room as well.

How are the rooms?
Bit odd angles and long entrance corridor but still the room was huge and I was impressed. The room had a separate bathroom at entrance corridor, then living room with sofa/table+chairs, separate round table and it easily accommodated quite wide extra bed as well and a bedroom with its own master bathroom with both shower and tub. Two television sets as well.

How is the exec. lounge?
Did not use in the morning as breakfast is in the proper restaurant downstairs. As someone mentioned, tea time offering was quite weak and I would not bother with it. Evening spread was extensive and enough for meal. Room itself was bit strange with odd angles and separate spaces.

What was good and what was bad?
Whole experience was good and there was nothing bad about the stay.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
159 euros for Sea view business suite is a steal. Would I return, absolutely if I had to stay a night at Istanbul.

Ambassador gift was two cookies?, fruit basket and plenty water.
