I used the same bank statement in my name for all 4 people, and wrote in the "Other Details (Optional)" field of the FTI-TTP application "<Baburai> is the Father/Husband of <X/Y/Z> as evidenced by the last page of the OCI".

I got "approval" in 5 days for all 4 applications. Now I'll see if we get any further drama trying to get the biometrics taken at DEL in Dec when we have our next trip planned. Also hoping the e-gates are operational in CCU by the time we depart from CCU in that trip.

<tangentially related> Looking at how big of a deal is being made out of "Indian Address proof" (encountered it in another different situation recently), I just transferred the Electricity Bill with CESC in Calcutta from my parent's name to myself. It's entirely online and took 7 days end to end. Their WhatsApp customer service is really good, very unexpected from a Utility Company anywhere! Now I will have an endless supply of recent address proof whenever required.

The registration process SUCKS. I cannot get past the document upload page. I was barely able to log in after trying for four days.

hmm . I have exact opposite experience . Love the simplicity and never had any issues.

The website is completely unusable.

OTPs are not sent 9 out of 10 times when registering, logins fails for no reason with no error messages, the Captcha's 'fail' for no discernable reasons. The registration form itself do not work, large parts of the form are broken & they are literally debugging it live in production (I'm serious, I'm watching them add/remove debugger statements in the javascript on the public mha.gov.in website). When you can get the form to work, it does not save, it just dumps you inexplicably back to the login page when you go back to the cycle of inexplicable captcha and login failures.

I have used some truly horrible GOI websites, but this has to be the absolute worst.

My experience was different. One if the better GOI websites with simple UI and above all quick processing of the application.

Huge lines at the regular queues in Mumbai this morning. Zero lines at the eGates. Only hassle was one OCI uncle trying to stop me from using the eGates saying that you have to register first and me happily smiling and saying "yes, I know". I was at the baggage belt before the first bags came out.

I am curious if you are on an OCI too? The last time I entered India in BLR, "OCI some problem, sir!" at the e-gates for those OCI holders already registered for TTP. It never worked on either entry or exit despite trying by myself and with the help of an immigration officer.

No I am pure desi Indian passport, but my wife is OCI and no problems in Mumbai for her. However, I have heard that BLR is problematic for OCIs.

Edit: Got the final approval email today - a day after completing biometrics, valid for 5 years from date of biometrics.

Completed my biometrics enrollment at counter 3 at Mumbai Airport today, Its the counter for Crew/Diplomatic Passports. They told me to first clear regular immigration and come back to give prints.
He wanted to see the approval email on phone, didn't even see my passport.

I travelled on a new passport issued in US and immigration officer could not figure out which passport I left India on my last trip. My previous passport which I used extensively for last 10 years was no longer showing in their system and they had to refer me to the BOI room in the back to sort it out. I'm glad I was carrying it as they could verify stamps - but in future with e-gates, we may not have a record of entry/exit if they have system issues.

FTI TTP now available for ages 7 and up

FTI is now available for anyone aged 7 and up--this previously was restricted to ages 12-75, but now the website says:
"Applicants who are less than 7 years of age are not eligible to apply for FTI-TTP."

Just used egates to exit BOM. Manual lines were long and would've taken 30+ mins. First kiosk gave the dreaded go to manual counter message but I think it was because the passport wasn't read properly. Went to the next scanner and was thru in seconds. Borading pass was stamped right after.

Very happy with the entire process - from application to approval to usage. Much better than global entry(other than tsa precheck benefits)

As long as the guy in the booth to stamp the boarding pass is awake at Mumbai, the eGate is a major timesaver there on departures. Last week I must have saved close to an hour given the huge lines at the regular counters.
