Just did my biometrics at BLR. 4 egates waiting for customers to use it. one poor guy got stuck in the nirvana between two glass doors. While doing the biometrics I overheard the officers calling the help desk. 'We can't open the gates, even if we reject it's not opening, system shows all approved.' 🫢 Poor guy was still stuck after I passed security and looked back.

Re all names from passport in reservation/boarding pass: I specifically quizzed the Lufthansa checkin about the names. He said it's perfectly fine to just have one first name and last name. 'Immigration scans the BP for flight number to see if you are on the manifest, the name is not matched.'
Last week Air India in FRA recapture our documents and added the middle names into the reservation and reprinted everything. When I asked why they said 'Immigration in India wants full names sir' 🤔

I would be travelling with my parents (both are above 70 & hence not enrolled in TTP) next month from Vadodara-Delhi-New York thru International transfer at Terminal 3 with immigration being done at Delhi. I have received an email to complete my Biometrics at Delhi airport. Since my parents would be using a wheelchair (for whom there is a seperate immigration counter), how do I complete my biometrics ? Do they stamp the passport upon completion of biometrics at Delhi airport ? Would they allow my parents to have their passport stamped at the same counter where they take biometrics ? Suggest the best way to complete this process. Thanks.

Yes, they will be able to process your parents passports at the same counter.

Have they changed the DOM to INTL immigration counters at DEL? Last time I did this in Delhi in 2023, there was a separate transit area with only 2 counters - 1 wheelchair and 1 normal, followed by 1 working security screen which was backed up because of all the wheelchairs.

That's still the same. The biometrics will be done at the regular immigration counter (not transit).

Did biometrics at BOM while exiting yesterday and have now got an email, about 16 hours later that I've been approved for the use of e gates.

The FTI TTP counter was unmanned when I got there and I had to tell someone I needed to get my biometrics done before he got an officer to show up.

Looks like they've formalised the stamping of boarding passes for people who go through the egates. The four or five egates now funnel through to a guy who sits there just to stamp BPs. He didn't have much to do around the time I passed through, going by how few people were using or trying to use the egates.

US Citizen with OCI. Applied for TTP yesterday. What are the current timelines ? I have a trip to BOM in 3rd week of April and plan to do biometric after landing immigration. After I go through the regular immigration line and stamping, do I ask the officer to guide me to counter which does biometric?

Good, but unfortunate it took them so long to implement this given that they knew and were warning about this requirement from CISF before the system even went live.

Little late, but wanted to drop a review of the departure experience at AMD. I used the e gates shortly after they went live in the last week of January. Having used the gates at DEL before, I was just about to scan my passport when the immigration guy motioned me to stop, and asked me to wait. I guess I was maybe one of the first to use the gates. He called over 2-3 people and then they watched as I passed through. Kind of weird, but I guess normal curiosity when projects move from training to real world implementation. It was downhill from there. Same issues regarding stamping of BP everywhere afterward. I was lucky in a way that since I was the only one on my flight using the facility, by the second inquiry to the immigration staff on the wireless they did not need to check and just approved me immediately. But I guess I got held up 5 or 6 times, with the last BP Check guy at the end of the aerobridge also radioing the immigration guy. More training definitely needed. Arrival was pretty smooth though. I was able to do plane to car in 6 minutes (no checked bag).

You have to do this before you cross immigration. In DEL there is a counter for registration near the egates. I'm assuming it will be similar for BOM.

Do not cross immigration first otherwise they will not let you go back to complete the registration process.

They don't have this stamping nonsense in DEL if you use the egates. Don't know why BOM can't follow the same procedure.

No, its the opposite in BOM. If the counter at arrivals (on the extreme right of the arrivals hall) is unmanned, clear immigration and then go to the immigration office (before arrivals Duty Free on the left) to ask someone to come and register you.

After I reach immigration, should I look for the extreme right to also get my arrival stamp or can I go to any immigration counter, get arrival stamp and ask him where to go for the biometric?

Any counter if the registration is not manned.
