+ New Zealand, Norway, Finland, Singapore

Unfortunately it doesnt seem to be an option for those countries anymore. My point is I had that before but will just have to select the next best option plus put on some N/A values or something since the form doesnt have a drop down for visa on arrival.

My uncle made a last minute decision to come to India for a 10 day trip as he unexpectedly got some time off from work between projects. Only problem was that the Evisa website said that there had to be a gap of 4 days between his online application & arrival in India. He decided to fly to Dubai instead & leave for India 4 days later. He did however get the visa in under 12 hours.

The payment portal isn't the crowning glory of of Indian IT.

But I believe I've always received a near-immediate message acknowledging receipt of my application, which should predicate success on the payment front.

My current visa came through only a couple of hours' after making the online application and payment.

Has anyone had issues with a passport change after the e-Visa was issued?

The e-Visa FAQ does say "You may be allowed entry into India on the new passport even if ETA has been issued on the old passport with the condition that you must carry the new Passport and old passport on which ETA was issued." but just looking for personal experiences with the bureaucracy at the immigration counter.

The payment portals can be temperamental. In finding one that works I really wouldn't worry too much about forex fees.

In 99% of the cases, the card issuers are the temperamental ones especially on overseas transactions.

I'll try a compromise: the process can be temperamental

Exclamation Current Processing Times (should I be worried?)

Applied for a visa late afternoon Eastern Time on November 21. My flight departs early am on Nov 24. Anyone know current processing times? Wondering if I should apply again at one of the places that can get one issued in 24 hours or less.

Let me know your thoughts?

I applied about the same day as yours and I received my ETA about 18 hours later.

And the easiest way to pay for your e-visa is via PayPal. I tried SBI twice with different cards and it was pretty much automatically "declined by bank" although my bank didn't even see any attempt. Processing fees is slightly higher but your application is canceled after 3 unsuccessful payment attempts.
