Would rate VS best in terms of service & food and TK is best in terms of seat pitch (max). BA for none (except for the fact they ug my award ticket 3 out of 4 times).

BTW: VS has a 50% bonus miles offer, check this:

You have to be US based for the VS offer, and I think most of us, including OP. are India based

Was the food Veg? And wats the seat pitch on VS? Is it premium economy on all 4 legs? And do they provide priority services on the airport?

PE all 4 legs.

Seat pitch TK is better than VS

VS has priority services for PE (but no lounge)

VS food choices:

I am not veg, so can't comment on their veg options

With all sector prem eco, approx charges would be:

Virgin - ~94.5K per person
BA - ~96.5K per person

AF also offer PE, but that would be expensive at 115K per person.

tk is available for as low as inr 75k but only 2 out of 4 sectors will be premium economy....

also, i would suggest the op wait a few more months to see if the airlines offer some summer discounts, which they normally do around q1 of every year....

While you finalize your carrier, it would be worthwhile to note some experience at TK here:

If you are just concerned with thee food being Veg I would not worry. I have never heard of a single airline that does not have veg food. Just know that you need to request it in advance. Most airlines even offer a hindu meal also. If you are concerned that the food is tasty that is a different story. If flying coach I suggest you pack your own meal if tasty food is very important. That would apply for any airline.

Quite honestly I don't know that I would do much real research on this. All airlines are about the same in coach and I really don't think one airport is much better than the other. I would not pay more than a couple hundred dollars to fly one airline over the other as long as we are talking about the same number of connections and it is a reasonable length connection.

It makes no sense to debate FRA or MUC or IST or BRU and then rule out LHR because of $50 in taxes. If $50 is important than just buy the cheapest ticket as the airlines are all about the same. And do know that if your final destination is in NJ it will cost over $100 for a taxi from JFK.

My main concern is the food being veg coz i have read on the internet that some gulf carriers had included meat and some cases beef in the veg/hindu food...

If i have to fly coach then i would favor AI coz its cheaper plus its non stop...
Its the PE cabin that i wanted to know about between TK and VS..

I wanted to know about the airports so that my mom doesn't have to run around at the airports... I was looking at hassle-free connections rather than the fees that LHR charge.

Seems like good logic ^

I suggest TK over VS for many reasons, not the least that flying a roundtrip in comfort class on this itinerary will get you *G, which is an incredible perk (A3 ftw).

indeed good logic, internationally, i fly whY (with the occassional miles upgrade) and have a lot of these concerns - connecting airport can play a huge part - JFK-MUC-BOM-FRA-JFK....... the layover at MUC was a pleasure...... on the way back FRA was absurd - never again. for a whY pax since there is no lounge access, makes it more important to ensure a stressfree layover

That's interesting to know that one round trip in comfort with TK will fetch star gold status with staralliance. However, I am not able to figure out the maths, can someone please help?

I think the calculations were based on using A3 program, but now TK CC earns only 100%, not 125%
